I had eczema until my early 20's when by coincidence, while trying to rid my body of systemic candidiasis, I cured my eczema once and for all as well. Basically I was on an alkaline-causing diet and eliminated gluten, dairy, sugar, fermented foods, food with additives (which meant cooking foods from scratch instead of eating pre-cooked/packed meals), to name a few...and as my body healed from the havoc candida had caused me, my eczema disappeared, as did my hay fever, as did my susceptibility to catch the flu every flu season. In other words, my immunity seemed to go through the roof.

I was curious as to what you eat now. Seems like you have eliminated everything! I have often thought of eliminating wheat but it seems really hard and expensive and I am on a tight budget. I have an extensive fungal infection that just won't go away and I have tried everything from creams to pills(all from doc). What advice could you give me? Thank you!

Hi kevmichar1:

Nowadays I get a food sensitivity test done whenever I feel something isn't right as it helps me zero in on what foods might be offensive so my diet is guided by that. The first time I got the test right was after following an anti-candida diet religiously for 10 years (it had become my norm). The test confirmed I was OK to have sugar and wheat but still no dairy. Also I found foods that had helped me heal and worked for me like eggs and lettuce were now on the forbidden list. Eliminating the foods the test told me to brought my health back to normal. A year later, I found I could eat eat lettuce and dairy and bananas but still no eggs and now no wheat. I must admit I did go wheat-crazy so might be why my body rejected it. The following year everything was allowed except for cow's milk (cheese was fine), yeast, eggs, beets...IIRC. So as you can see, my diet does change according to what tests tell me but in general, I tend to avoid wheat, dairy, sugar, foods with lots of additives as much as I can. It is easy to do so when at home but not so much if I get hungry when out and all I can find are sandwiches, processed meats, breaded fish/chicken, egg-based foods. I do try to keep eating this "junk" to a minumum though and try to stuff myself before I leave home. I also take supplements religiously.

The most efficient way to determine what foods to eat and to confirm whether systemic candidiasis may be your issue would be to get an Immunolabs Bloodprint test like I do. You can either:

    1) call their 1-800 number on their websitewww.immunolabs.com to find out what docs in your area are members and do the testing. When my insurance covered it, it only cost me the copay $10. But now my insurance does not cover it and it would cost me about $1,000 if I used insurance but a little more than half that if I don't use insurance--which is the option I use. They allow you to pay it in 3 instalments too. Used to be you could pay as little as you could afford per month but some folks ruined it for all by not paying so now that option is off the table. Or

    2) onwww.betterhealthusa.com there is a form you can fill out for the staff there to contact you and arrange for you to get the food sensitivity test done. I think they provide you with info on who in your area can do the test and I guess answer any questions you might have.

Alternatively, you can use website likewww.thecandidadiet.com and follow the suggestions there. I believe focusing on a mostly alkaline-forming diet will also be beneficial. If this is the way you choose to go, I highly recommend getting this book "The Candida-Related Complex: What Your Doctor Might Be Missing" as it will be a great companion for the journey.

Otherwise, feel free to PM me with any questions (eg relief of symptoms) because when you start the treatment of candidiasis, you go through a period called "die-off" which is worse than the hell you are going through now. It is like everything that could possibly go wrong will. I liken it to withdrawal symptoms people giving up drugs they are addicted to go through. You really will feel like giving up, but that torture will be well worth it after it passes. And it will pass...after which you will feel better than ever.

Havana8 et al, for some reason URLs are not redirecting correctly. In the previous post, I typed in the correct address for Better Health USA and for The Candida Diet which you can confirm by copying and pasting the URLs as I typed them, but EDS is redirecting to "Not Found". Can you or whoever does the website look into this? Thanks.

I posted this here so people can know I am not making up fake addresses. Laughing
