Hey I've been reading through these forums and it seems people suggest all sorts of different things for this. Curious to know what everyone's stance is on the subject now.
I am treating small ice pick scars, hypertrophic scars, and some shallow box and I think rolling scars.
I have been dermastamping and single needling them for half a year. I wait at least 6 weeks in between treatments. I have seen some improvement, but nothing too drastic. And I am hoping that since many of them are small or shallow, I'd be able to almost completely get rid of them.
I haven't really been applying anything to the areas after I needle/stamp them. I am looking for some input on what to use to get better results.
It looks like a lot of people, like "foxe" suggest using copper peptides on the areas right after needling and then every day in between treatments. I have read some promising things about this stuff but I am worried about what some people call the "uglies" and any other possible side effects. Foxe also suggests using an exfoliator like Exfol Serum. But I am reading that stuff has vitamin E in it and doesn't vitamin E have anti-inflammatory properties...and this is something you are supposed to avoid when needling right?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! |

Dr. Des Fernandes recommends applying Environ C-Quence immediately after rolling, and to have prepped the skin for a lengthy period of time prior to rolling (I think at least 30 days but I don't recall the exact time frame). Dr. Fernandes said the C-Quence is what he uses himself, when rolling.
I love the stuff! |

I have never heard of that stuff. How does it compare to copper peptides?
Copper peptides sounds like the way to go I am just a bit worried about the possible side effects and don't know whether to go with the regular or super (people seem to recommend this a lot for spot treating scars) strength.
I also don't know if I should go with exfol serum or emu oil or something else |

person886 - don't worry about the uglies if you just use the Super Cop 2X (or other stronger CPs) for spot treating only. But, if you have a lot of spots to treat and might have to cover quite a bit of your face with CPs,then acclimate your skin to the CPs for a while first. And start with a weaker CP for all over, too.
With regards to the 'uglies', they do not last. At least they never did for me.
Good luck with your treatment.
BTW - the products from Environ are great for anti-aging rolls. |

I was hoping you'd post in this. You seem to be very knowledgeable on this subject.
As for how many spots I have, there aren't that many. Everything except this one area is small. However, there is one rather large area that needs to be evened out. I scraped it really bad and this patch of skin on my face is uneven in areas and has parts that stick out (I guess they are called hypertrophic scars) and it just doesn't look right...
Why would I want to put cp all over my face? I'm mainly just looking to treat these scars |

I am mainly just focused on treating the scars, not really anti-aging stuff.
Also, do you think I should use emu oil or exfol serum? I'm worried about the emu oil causing acne. I'm also worried that since exfol serum apparently has vitamin E in it that since vitamin E has anti-inflammatory properties in it that that would hinder scar revision after needling |

The Environ-C Quence is recommended for atrophic (indented) scars. The rolling/needling mechanism will break up scar tissue banding, and the high levels of vitamins A and C (in the C-Quence) promote new collagen production. |

I don't know if I should go with the Environ-C Quence or copper peptides...I feel like the vitamin C and maybe A would irritate my skin, especially after needling |

The Environ C-Quence was made for the purpose of use with needling....it is produced by the doctor who introduced needling as a procedure for scar and wrinkle treatment, Dr. Des Fernandes. In that, I would certainly feel much more comfortable using Vitamin A and Vitamin C than anything else. That said, do NOT use tretinoin with needling. Tretinoin is far too harsh for this purpose and will not be suitable for post-needling application. Also, do use the C-Quence daily for about 30 days prior to needling, but then you can apply the C-Quence right after you needle. |

Might look into this Environ C-Quence if you think it is the best route to go after needling.
I was strongly leaning towards copper peptides, but I've read a lot of scary things about it |
