I've been using the Botani olive squalene serum for several weeks now, morning & night. I haven't seen any sort of improvement in my skin. It is lovely to use but i'll be going back to my rosehip oil once the Botani runs out. Rosehip oil is far cheaper. |

I am using Botani olive skin serum (it contain squalene). It is oil form.
I have also tried HABA (Japan brand) it also contain squalane (it is a chemical synthesis product)
They have similar effect.
Dr. Wu (brand from Taiwan) also has a antiaging serum which contains squalane, it is a gel form. |

Hey everyone, I just recently joined this forum after doing some research on Squalene. I'm wondering if anyone here is from Vancouver and knows where to get the Botani OlIve Oil?
Thanks for the help! |

SqualENE is from sharks while squalANE is from olives. If you take a look at Kiehl's products, almost all of them contain this product because of its amazing moisurizing abilities and easy application. |

Where could we buy these Australian products in Canada (since you quoted CAD in your previous post)? Thanks.

As an avid facial oil user I'm now going to give this oil a shot. I notice its very frequently in product ingredient lists but for some reason thought it came from olives, not to sure what gave me that impression?
I'm currently using a combination of argan, vitamin e, and apricot kernel oil. I'm always purchasing the oils that are put in skincare products that you can buy from the shop and using them in higher quantities. I'll give this a go. |

My understanding is that squalene is the fatty acid that is closest to the one in human sebum, squalane is the saturated form which has a longer shelf life and is supposedly less comedogenic. Usually squalene is extracted from shark liver oil and squalane from olives, however note the use of the word usually! I have noted several commercial websites and forum posts using the words interchangeably, so I suspect this is where the confusion arises from. Given the links between vegetarianism and natural therapies I am sure someone, somewhere is producing olive squalene.
I use olive squalane blended with rosehip seed oil OR emulsified with a little hyaluronic acid serum, whenever I am concerned I have stripped the acid mantle. My sensitive skin drinks it up with no negative reactions to date. |

I'm so getting some squalene oil, it sounds really good, I love palmers (all the stuff smells like cocoa butter) they have an oil with squalene in it, will have to purchase it.
Also thank you for the prompt response in regards to the difference, it is really confusing |

I like Squalene better than Squalane. As someone has pointed out, Squalane can come from Olives, rice bran and wheat germ. I have Celiac disease and I react to gluten even on the skin.
I know it's "not ethical" but I use Mayumi and I know it's from Shark's liver. I have to say it's amazing stuff and I love the way my skin glows |

This is one of my favorite oils. It doesn't leave a greasy feeling. For me it seems to help with skin tone. My skin is acne prone and it never caused any breakouts. Since it absorbs deep in the skin it would probably be good to use after something like a chemical peel. Another really good oil is one called Camellia seed oil. Its somewhat of a hidden gem. It had the same benefits for me as squalene; maybe a little lighter. |

Two days ago I suffered a general systemic allergic reaction and suspected a just-purchased skin care product that is pure squalane oil.
I was astounded to learn from reliable sources (medical articles obtained via Google) that squalane (chemically very similar to squalene but stablized) is a well known immune system adjuvant. An aduvant provokes autoimmune reactions, and squalane is used in medicine expressly for its VERY WELL KNOWN abililty to provoke auto-immune reactions. Squalane is banned from vaccines in most countries, not allowed in the U.S. in vaccines, due to its well known trigger of autoimmune reactions and possibly disorders. The FDA did, however, buy stockpiles of H1Ni vaccines containing squalane - in spite of the fact that it is currently illegal in U.S. vaccines!!
In some studies, squalane has caused long term autoimmune disorders - the list of disorders is scary indeed: autism, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Apparently those of us at most risk carry a certain gene, which my gene pool obviously does, given my reaction.
The amount of squalane that might cause a reaction is unknown to me - but my product (an $18 OTC product brand Mayumi, from Japan) was PURE squalane.
If squalane is not allowed in vaccines WHY is it being allowed in widely available over the counter skin care and other products? Some of you may not be at risk, but you will also carry the antibodies, so that a baby you carry may be at risk. Personally, I'd go with fractionated coconut oil just to be safe. Just saying. |

The forum does not allow me to post a link, but do a Google search for
