I'm seriously thinking about getting a mini-fridge to keep in the bathroom, that would house all of my skincare products. That way I would be able to store stuff that doesn't have preservatives, without worrying as much about them going bad.

I'm just curious if anyone else has done this, and if so, which model you got. I don't have a ton of space in my bathroom, either on the floor or the counter, so it's tough to think of where I'd put it.

The smallest one I've seen (that isn't meant to be plugged into a USB drive on your computer!) is:

Can anyone weigh in with their version? And if any of you have little bathroom fridges, do you think it's worth it? TIA!

The reviews don't sound good for me. Since you don't have much room what about a small (4 bottle) wine cooler. I have seen them with 2 racks and thought that someone could put their items in a plastic tray that would sit on top of the wine holders. I have a large bathroom so I am able to use a cubic foot refrigerator. Holds quite a lot and am very happy with it. I got it at target. There is a topic on this here but for the life of me I can't find it. If I remember correctly Walmart had a small one.

Numbers of gadgets stores are selling such kind of models. Although reviews about such units never favors the products but for short term usage they are quiet helping and keeps your skincare products healthier for your skin.

Is it really necessary to store the skincare products in the fridge? I'm worried that the lower temperature will also affect the ingredients of the products. Anyone can tell me that? Question

Purplecity - - Many products require refrigeration to keep them stable for a longer period of time (C-serum products with ascorbic acid for instance). I keep such items in my kitchen frig.

Thanks. Besides serums, how about toner, lotion, moisturer and creams? Does the EL ANR serum need to be stored since I'm using it now.

For the last several years, I've kept all my essential oils, carrier oils, perfumes, and active ingredients in a wine refrigerator. I could put it in the bathroom but I've always kept it in my crafting area. I bought it specifically for this purpose (oil/perfume storage). The temperature is a steady 50°F.

ginnielizz: please tell me, you find things stay much better having kept them in a 50 degree environment? And what a good idea to also store your perfume there, I have a serious perfume collection with some bottles priced higher than I care to even admit(luckyscent is the best for niche fragrance) and this would probably be a good idea for me.

Ha! I never have actually gone through with buying a bathroom fridge. I do think Seattle's base weather keeps things better, but our butter is never spreadable so that's the tradeoff. :)

Hi there I formulate skin care and I have to say it is not a good idea to keep all skin care products in the fridge. Some carbomer masks yes, but keeping creams in this kind of environment can encourage condensation in the jars which can also encourage microbes x

I want to get a mini fridge for that purpose but I think having a fridge in the bathroom could be an electrical hazard and it can add more heat to a humid environment.

I've had no issues with condensation with the stuff I do store in my fridge and this includes DIY and store bought.

Unless you have a huge bathroom, you can probably get a small fridge... but "I think" is not worth the space that it will occupy. haha Smile

Have been thinking about this issue recently as I realised that keeping my c serum in a black airless pump in the fridge preserved it so well.

This is the type of model I am thinking of buying:
