Thanks for the reply. I see that the active ingredients are Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 (Matrixyl) and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E). It doesn't say if the Vitamin E is natural (d) or synthetic (dl).
Nothing special and it costs $16 which is as much as the Elite Serum sold on Amazon. The Elite Serum Rx Extra Stength costs $80 but contains SYN-TC from Pentapharm and Inyline from Lipotec in addition to the active ingredients in the original (Argireline, SNAP-8, Haloxyl, Eyeliss, Matrixyl-3000, Syn-Coll). Great for around the eyes and forehead but I guess some people use it also for the entire face as it has so many peptides. |

I've used it on different parts of my face and wrinkles and it doesn't work. The wrinkles are still there and It also leaves a white shiny film afterwards. Pretty disappointing. Plus, I paid almost $23.00 for it! NOT worth it in my opinion. I'll stick with Clarins smooth perfection. |

Just as a bit of a heads up re Elite -
EDS sent me a full-size sample of the Elite Serum w/ an order time ago. Thx, EDS. (serum comes in a strange-looking, hypodermic-needle container) I tested it on my hands just as a novel *try-out* and it made my hands kinda silky smooth. (I have smooth-skinned hands to begin with anyway. But just wanted to see what the serum *would do*.) I liked the moist, smooth feeling the serum left behind. But I did notice that after a few days, skin on my hands started to dry out regardless that I, also, was using, my reg. hand lotion over the serum. So I gave the serum to my mom.
Though, she does have extremely few lines/wrinkles on her face, (and has absolutely none around her eyes – for which the serum is intended), she used the serum on her face and she kinda liked the silkiness the Elite serum left on her face.
During that time, I called Elite re the Elite sold on Amazon, (thinking I’d get my mom some more for that crazy lows price of $16 - vs the company’s $80. +). The Elite CS rep told me that those sold by Amazon were either fake or they were past their expiration dates and > not *good*!
Didn’t matter’ cuz a few days afterwards, my mom said her skin was kinda drying out from the serum. I, then, read a review by Marta over at truthinaging where she stated that the serum made her skin very dry as well. (I think she just used it around her eyes, don’t remember)
I can’t speak for the Elite RX serum; > came out *recently*; CS said that it was *more potent* than regular Elite. (However, FWIW, in my overall personal experiences w/ other topical products w/ skin/muscle relaxers-tighteners like Argireline and some other GABA-like ingr., despite the addition of other lubricating ingr.., they are too cumulatively dehydrating for me.... I’ve learned to avoid. Have NO adverse skin condition issues esp. not around my eyes and don’t want to start any... LOL) |

Here's what I read about Argireline
Quote: |
Although it is a recently developed compound existing trial results do suggest that in low concentrations (10% or less) acetyl hexapeptide-3 is safe and effective . It has been shown that in larger concentrations Argireline can cause skin sagging so despite what users might believe, a higher concentration of acetyl hexapeptide-3 will not necessarily produce better results. Because of this, the manufacturer does not recommend using concentrations of more than 10%. |
and here's another one:

Lipotec’s studies were based on a 5% Argireline and female volunteers. Wrinkles around the eyes decreased up to 17% after 15 days of treatment and up to 27% after 30 days of treatment. The only independent study that I have found was conducted by a Spanish university and published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science that says that a 10% concentration of Argireline reduced wrinkles by 30% over 30 days. |
The TNS Essential Serum by SkinMedica seems to be more regarded here on EDS and that one does not have argireline. |

BTW, Elite Serum according to the manufacturer has a date on the bottle. I'm not so sure if that is the expiration date. From the response I read on Amazon, it is a manufacturing date and the product is good 2 years from that date. |
