I have normal to oily skin in general apart from around my eyes which are quite dry. I use sunscreen on my face every day and also a retinol at night. The retinol is a recent-ish addition, say maybe 6 months ago I started using it. Before that I was only using my bha which had done wonders all on it's own. The use of retinol in my routine has, touch wood, meant that my 25 year old skin now never breaks out, is clearer in tone, texture etc. I am now looking onto the next possible step in my skincare routine and wondering if moving onto a retin a product would be a good idea for me. I am young at 25 but retin a is a preventative measure also right? Should I start off with a generic brand? What %? I hear that most people start at the 0.05% but should me and my sensitive skin start at 0.025% instead? Any tips for a first time user of retin a? Can I use my bha at the same time as the retin a or is there no real need to do that? I'm also assuming that if I were to start on a retin a that I would need to stop using my OTC retinol product? Please help. |
