Hello everyone,
I am 26yo male with oily skin who had acne problem until I was 22-23. I went through accutane treatment when I was 22 and since then I have had almost no acne on my face, however unfortunately I have several deep acne scars and also red marks due to accutane. In addition to these, I also have blackheads on my nose and couple milia under my eyes.
My current routine is:
- Over the counter foaming cleanser
- Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream
- Obagi Blender + 0.1% tretonin
I use this routine both AM and PM usually. However, I am thinking it might be the time to customize it a bit.
I don't apply Obagi Blender + tretonin to my nose because it didn't really help with blackheads. However, Dr. Hauschka helped to clean inside the pores. The problem is pores are still there. I read that it is not possible to get rid of the pores but the only way is to minimize the size.
I want to ask how I can improve my routine and make it more efficient. I am not very into DIY solutions and I travel a lot so I would prefer international products. First thing I want to change is to get a better face cleanser, something simple. I still have some Obagi Blender but I am not planning on renewing it when finished because it makes my face red all the time (I have been using it for 4 months already).
Do you think I need to a BHA product like Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid or AHA product like Alpha Hydrox %10? These products are quite international and readily available everywhere I guess.
I would really appreciate if you could help me find a sustainable daily routine. I have been researching for a while but quite lost.
Thanks a lot for your help! |

Thanks, can I use any sunscreen or is there something specific I need to use?
Does anyone have any recommendations about the daily routine? |

You can skip the .1% tret in the morning and just use once a night. Just a pea sized dab. If you only use once per day, switch to every other night. That should help with redness.
Try:
AM
cleanser
Paula's toner
SPF
PM
Cleanser
Paula's toner
.1% tret (every other night) alternate with light lotion. |
