Hi guys... total noob here...
I'm on day 5 of the Obagi Nu Derm routine and I know it's early days but I'm starting to panic about my upcoming holiday...
I was told that the worst of the redness and peeling would be over in 6 weeks. My holiday is in 7 weeks so I thought great! Enough time to get going with this...
But now I'm hearing of so many stories where it's lasting longer than this, so tell me honestly, am I going to feel self conscious on my holiday? It's in Florida so very sunny, but I am more than committed to covering myself in the SPF 50 and wearing a hat
I'm just concerned that I'm going to look like a lobster in my photos...
So really.... around the 7 week mark, what was it like for you guys? The redness, peeling and stinging got me down this morning but I just keep focusing on the end result. I'm very pale skinned, using the oily skin Nu Derm range and 0.1% tretinoin
Any positive energy welcome.... |

Took me 24 weeks on NuDerm and average is 18 weeks. In seven weeks, you just finished the first skin cycle so you should be peeling, red, etc. Severity depends on how much product you are using and oily skin generally peels less.
Suggest you stop the entire regime at least 5 days before your holiday. If it was me, I would stop two weeks in advance just to be careful not to expose any fragile skin to the sun. |

Thank you denisiel
Sounds like quite a lot of people are still looking unsightly long after six weeks! I think I will stop now and start again when I'm back from holiday.
I have since found out that I was given the wrong strength tretinoin as my doctor actually only prescribed me 0.025 and yet I've been given 0.1!!
Don't want to do any damage so I will admit defeat and start the whole process again in a month or two |
