Hello sorry for a late reply
Bare minerals i have never tried before but i did know about the pore clogging ingredient that howInteresting mentions so ive never tried that.
It's weird because my skin looks drier now ive not been using the cerave for a bit! So now im wondering if it was helping. Thing is the vit c and retinol i didnt use for long i tried them now and again and never got into regular habbit of using. I think because of my acne really. Update on skin this week since using this new PHA cream is that i swear every time i use it (probably about 4 times now) i think it causes me to get really big spots on my face and i would have said my acne generally has been calmer of late apart from the bumps! It definately exfoliated slightly which is good and hasnt seemed to cause irritation but its just i think its causing me spots I will keep testing that though, just been using it on the lower half of my face. Im thinking of trying it on my forhead tonight. I had been using the Eucerin stuff on my forehead and i havent broken out But i cant tell if its exfoliating. My skin feels so rough. I left out both of those for a few days and my god my skin felt like sand paper with all the bumps!
Aqua (Water), Gluconolactone, Butylene Glycol, Isocetyl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Diisostearyl Malate, Arginine, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Tocopheryl (Vitamin E) Acetate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Steareth-2, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Propylparaben.
those are the ingredients for the PHA cream. Have you any idea what could be causing the spots? Im clueless.
Have you tried the yogurt mask before? Im scared to put foods on my face tbh, honey, cucumber etc dont agree with my skin
The bumps went down a bit on my body of heir own accord i have no idea what happened. They are still there slightly clogged and harder now but smaller. I didnt use anything on them ive just left them as they are. Might try coconut oil as i hear that always seems good but definately wont be on my face.
And thanks for all your makeup tips i have to re read again there was so much But one thing i have a problem with though is about putting any chemical sunscreen on or physical sunscreen before putting on foundation which i have to have now the acnes so bad. Im considering making my own using zinc oxide with colour pigments and then mixing that with moisturiser and primer to make a kind of bb cream? I cant seem to find anything with good zinc oxide protection that's affordable enough for me. Although i know people would reccommend not making your own sunscreen i would probably put extra in to make sure im getting good coverage. No idea if its possible but im going to have a go |

Have either of you tried LED? I had some chicken skin at the base of my neck. Don't know if it is the KP that you have since I'm much older than either of you, but it had a pebbly feel. After about 3 months of LED, 3-4x a week, the chicken skin is now back to normal skin. LED doesn't help with all skin problems. The skin tags I had in that area are still there so if you have a different condition it may not work. Just thought I would throw it out there as a possibility.
Oh and p.s. bareminerals makeup gives me clogged pores because of the bismuth oxychloride. I really like bareminerals skincare though. Most people give the skincare line great reviews, but a few people seem to have an allergic reaction to the active ingredient, so get samples if you can. |
I had heard of it but didnt know it could work for that. Someone had told me it can help to cure acne but didnt know about this. Did you get it done at a clinic or did you have a tool at home to use? |

Yeah, I'm talking about LED light therapy. I don't know if it will help you since my condition may not be what you're dealing with. The chicken skin on my neck feels pebbly under the surface which is probably due to aging. The reason I connected it to what you guys were talking about is that when I looked up KP, it said KP is chicken skin. Anyway, I thought it might be worth a try since you guys seemed to be at a dead end in terms of options and LED helps with a lot of skin conditions related to collagen repair and acne.
I too was surprised that it worked for this. I didn't think there was any treatment for chicken skin and was simply trying to ward off wrinkles. I used the Sirius Aurora (red lights for me, but if you think your condition is acne-related, then use blue lights), but most LED products work similarly. Treatment time for the Aurora is 23 minutes. Using the LED is very tedious, but doing it while surfing or watching TV makes it tolerable. It should be possible after a few months to cut back on treatment. I'm linking to the Amazon page so you can see reviews but check ebay which often has better prices.

For a first LED product if your issues are on your face, I've been recommending the Ilumask because it doesn't cost much and it's simply the easiest to use. This is a plastic mask with LED lights inside that's available at Target or Walmart for $29 and is limited to only 30 uses, 15 minutes per session. The way I used it was to set my alarm clock for 15 minutes earlier than my usual wakeup time. When the alarm rang, I put on the mask, and went back to sleep until the LED lights cut out 15 minutes later. Nothing could be simpler. And it was surprisingly effective. My complexion started looking healthy and glowy around the 3rd week. It's not a good long-term device since you have to keep buying it. But it's a good way to try out the modality and get a jump start on results. Again, this is the Amazon link but get it at a big box store or drugstore which have much better prices at the moment.

Has anyone tried the Skin Classic treatment? youtube.com has quite a few videos of Stephanie Holvick using the system.
She treats numerous skin problems, clogged pores, acne, spider veins, skin tags, age spots.
It's done by a nurse so it is not as expensive as going to a doctor.
I have no affliation was just looking how to to get rid of a cherry angionoma. |

Hey lady, I'm looking at this product:
Skinbiology's Lactic Power 10. It doesn't have glycerin too! Although I don't think that is our problem anymore. I don't have time to catch up on this thread right now, but I will soon. I'm guessing the PHA wasn't working out?
Have you ever done a yogurt mask and seen slight improvement afterwards? Or ever used a lactic acid product? It's hard to find a product with only lactic so you probably haven't, but wondering if you ever had a lactic peel at a spa or anything. |

I think regular trips to an esthetician who will focus on extractions will help. The bumps do not look like KP. I didn't read through the whole thread but i would try oil cleansing with something like DHC and follow up with a regular gel cleanser before you sleep. |

Hi, thank you for your response. I kind of often wonder if it is KP or not, it seems to sort of not look like it, but maybe looks similar. It's hard to figure out. What do you think the bumps are? An under the skin type of acne that just won't budge? May I ask since I've never heard of it before, what is DHC?? I'm so intrigued. And what gel cleanser would you recommend? I don't think I've ever used a gel cleanser and wouldn't know where to start looking for a good one.
Are you an esthetician? I've been to a spa a three times but since it's so expensive I couldn't keep up, when she did extractions it seems to only be stuff that was stuck in the pores which was disappointing to me because I hoped she would try to pop/extract some of the bumps each time I went. |

The bumps look like tiny cysts that are easily extracted. You can buy an extractor and try to do it yourself, but if you aren't gentle, you might scar yourself.
DHC is a japanese brand, I think they were the first to popularized cleansing oil as a precleanser in the USA.
I use any gel cleanser, right now I just use a natural one from trader joe's but Avalon organic and desert essence also make nice ones.
I'm not an esthetician. A good facial does cost money. Make sure you tell the esthetcian what you want done. If they won't extract, then I wouldn't return to them. |

Hello sorry not been here for a while. Not managed to get much further with my skincare, ive changed cleanser now to a LRP one and thinking of changing to a different moisturiser by avene and adding some ceramides i bought from lotioncrafters into it as extra skin barrier goodness! THe bumps just havent gone im still a big clog fest. My acne has gotten worse recently too, im ringing up the doctors tomorrow to go in and say i want to try going on the pill or something orally to take to help this. I wonder if the KP is hormones?
Dairy free hasnt helped, not sure how long i have been now but they havent got better. I could try going gluten free still but once again, i should get tests done. Im just hoping for a miracle so i dont have to go down the expensive route of tests! But i think il be waiting forever.
At the moment aswell as the acne, bumps on my face and body my under eyes are becoming more fine lined and trying to find something to help that but its not very easy. So stressed with my skin right now! Have you find anything to help you yet? |

I found this thread while looking for something else...
I had some bumps under the skin several years ago (could have been some deep acne, not really certain), due to detoxing because I quit smoking... The thing that really helped was LED therapy, blue light. I can see that LED was already recommended, but not specifically blue light. There are some good ones like Sirius Aurora (I have that, has red, blue and green light) and there are some cheap ones that can be found on ebay... I really think it is worth a try if anybody is still checking this thread...
In terms of moisturisers, I can warmly recommend oils, hemp oil is completely non-comedogenic and jojoba oil has very low comedogenic factor and is most similar to skin sebum. Both are quite dry oils that are absorbed quickly and have a lot of beneficial effects on skin.
They are relatively cheap and if you don't like them, you can use them in hair masks or as body moisturisers.
HTH! |
