Hello,
could anyone please recommend good resources to stay abreast on the skincare and other cosmetology progress and general knowledge? Some sort of an unbiased blog maintained by a knowledgeable and honest cosmetologist or independent experts? How do you keep yourself educated on what's going on in the industry?
Thank you! |

I like futurederm -- there are so many blogs out there though that even I get confused 90% of the time lol |

Thank you for the suggestion. Futurederm's articles look interesting and seem to be trustworthy, the only concern is as they are skincare manufacturers themselves, they could be biased and geared towards their own products |

I really did like FutureDerm when she first starting blogging.
She has dropped out of medical school (but still refers to herself as future derm) and manufactures her own products. Your money would be better spent elsewhere as her product are not special.
I would read real derm blogs such as Dr. Bailey. I ignore her product recs.
I also have checked out books from the library. I listed some books that I have checked out. I prefer books written by doctors rather than beauty editors.
Some suggestions:
The Skin Type Solution by Dr. Baumann
Heal your skin : the breakthrough plan for renewal / Dr Ava Shamban.
The Japanese skincare revolution : how to have the most beautiful skin of your life at any age / Chizu Saeki ; translated by Kay Yokota ; photographs by Hirokazu Takayama.
Looking good at any age : a woman dermatologist talks to women about what to expect, what to accept, what can be changed / Amy E. Newburger, Pam Proctor.
he new natural : your ultimate guide to cutting-edge age reversal / Dr. Neal Sadick with Samantha Marshall and Adam Dinkes. (Rodale book)
he original beauty bible : unparalled information for beautiful and younger skin at any age / Paula Begoun (Paula's Choice) She is not a doctor; but this was written before Paula started selling her line and has good basic information.
Simple skin beauty : every woman's guide to a lifetime of healthy, gorgeous skin /Dr. Ellen Marmur
Stop aging, start living : the revolutionary 2-week pH diet that erases wrinkles, beautifies skin, and makes you feel fantastic / Dr. Jeannette Graf, with Alisa Bowman. -
The Skin Care Answer Book by Dr. Mark Lees (I have not read this one.)
I also read skin care forums such as makeupalley and reddit. |
