I reached my maximum posts yesterday and had to wait until today to reply.

I was also looking for studies comparing red light alone compared to red light and near-infrared, but couldn't find any.

However, I read a few papers addressing the negative effects of near and far infrared, and found that high doses of IR and near infrared reduced stimulation and inhibition wound healing in two studies. However, I don't have access to those studies, and I don't know how high of a dose or on which spectrum they used.

Hi,

That's very interesting, may you give the source for these studies? Thank you.

Btw, I emailed to Germany, asking about details of the LED equipment they used for the paper linked in the first post... let's see if they will respond.

Now Niacinamide causes damage? and LED and Infrared?? I think microcurrent also damages skin! Wow maybe we should all just leave our skin alone and use sunscreen and hope that doesn't cause damage!

Niacinamide is excellent for your skin!

Where did you hear microcurrent can cause damage?

I love my LED light panels I purchased many many years ago. I have lost the instrucitons..but I know you use it agressively for the first few weeks..then downgrade usage to just a few times a week.

We all know overusing these gold standard topicals is damaging.

Imagine over using retin A, glycolic...and copper peptides?

See? too much of any good thing.. is too much.

I wouldn't believe the hype from these "Studies"

I just stumbled on another study that claims the blue light (sold against acne?)is harmful:

In previous studies, blue light in the wavelengths between 400 to 500 nm (near-ultraviolet) have been shown to be the most harmful and damage cells, gametes, and embryos 29,30 . Godley et al. reported increased mitochondrial DNA damage in visible light exposed human primary retinal epithelial cells, particularly in blue region spectrum and showed that the superoxide anion was the main reactive oxygen species that caused mitochondrial DNA lesions 30
