Hiya. Sorry I missed this thread. Yes, I received Helena Rubinstein Magic Concealer. I ordered it in Light and it's the perfect shade for me. Surprisingly, I don't find it as pigmented as I thought it would be (after reading about how well it conceals super dark circles) However, it really does deliver. It's light and liquidy in texture, but it does conceal dark circles without making it obvious. I would say it's somewhat between a highlighter (like YSL Touche Eclat or Dior Skinflash) and a heavy duty concealer if that makes any sense. Normally with other concealers, if I wear them on their own, it's very obvious that I'm wearing a concealer no matter what a great color match I have. So far, the only 2 concealers I've been able to get away with wearing them on their own (without any other makeup, not even mascara) are Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush On Illuminator and Helena Rubinstein. With a highlighter, it doesn't really conceal my dark circles, but it doesn't settle into fine lines. With a heavy duty concealer, well, it's just too heavy and makes it so obvious that I'm trying to hide something, but it does cover up the dark circles. HR Magic Concealer is just the perfect combination for me. It delivers what a heavy concealer does, but is light in texture and brightens up the dark circles like a highlighter does. Having said that, so far I've only used HR Magic Concealer during the day and it wears well. I don't know how it will perform on a night out when I'll be dancing and sweating! However, I've very surprisingly come across a very cheap concealer from ZA (the one in a squeeze tube) and this one is heavy duty without being too cakey or thick in texture. It's VERY pigmented! I think it'll be too heavy for me to wear during the day, but on a night out, it is perfect for me. For those of you who live in Asia, it's probably worth looking into ZA concealer. |
