I used Nioxin several years ago. My hair was in poor condition and shedding badly. Nioxin stopped the shedding. My hair did get thicker in the areas it felt thin. Nioxin IMHO is an excellent product and worth a try.
I suggest Follicle Booster for your thin areas.

An intensive leave-in scalp treatment for excessively thinlooking areas and low density hair lines. It provides vitamin enriched nourishment onto the scalp and protects hair against the phototoxic effects of sunlight and the damaging effects of DHT (Dihydrotesterone). |

Hi, Where can I find more info and where may I purchase Follicle Booster? |
Many beauty salons carry Nioxin. You can also purchase it on line. Amazon.com is a reliable retailer.

Winnie,
Thank you for recommending Nioxin Follicle Booster!
I bought some almost one month ago and have been rubbing it into my scalp twice a day.
For the last year, I've noticed that when I wash my hair, the shower drain is clogged up with hair. I was loosing so much, it was quite alarming. I'm in my early 50s, and figured it was one of those menopausal "things".
Within 2 weeks of using the Nioxin, I had approx. a 90% decrease in hair loss. I was shocked, since I really was skeptical that this was going to work. I will continue to use this for a few months (I ordered a 6 month supply).
Now,I know this may not work for everyone, but for me, it's been amazing. All I can say is YIPPEE! |

I was wondering the same thing. I figured that I'll use it for 6 months and then if I start loosing hair again, I'll continue.
Hey, with the results I'm getting, I'll use it for life if I have to.
Maybe Winnie can answer that question for us. |

Mars you need to have your TSH, free T3 and free T4 levels tested. Hair loss on the head accompanied by the outer third of the eyebrows thinning is a BIG sign of hypothyroidism. If you are hypothyroid, DON'T let them give you Synthroid! Synthroid causes hair loss! Insist on Armour (natural dessicted thyroid) or Thyrolar (combo. T4 and T4). But keep in mind, even after you start treatment to correct the hypothyroid, hair loss can continue for a bit til the body regulates itself and you get your levels to where they should be for you.
Also, Nizoral shampoo is good for growing hair too. I use it in concert with Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. |

Hi, I don't post often mostly lurk. I've been using Nioxin for the last 6 months. I have very fine straight hair. It started thinning especially around the hairline this year, I'm guessing it's hormonal-I'm 43. I have been pleased with the results. I have fine hairs filling in, some of it now about 2 inches long.
I initially was using just the scalp treatment, I now use the shampoo as well. I also use the skin actives brow and lash filler about once a week around the hair line.
It has been helping me and I won't give it up anytime soon! . |

The Laser Comb is really supposed to work but I think you need to use it consistently. I was talking to a Hair Replacement Specialist who told me that after doing hair grafts he always wants his patients to use it because it speeds up hair (re)growth tremendously. |
