Body Shop is not free of junk. There are colorings, fragrances, thickeners and preservatives in the products. If that is not a concern then they have some nicely priced stuff to try. I love the Body Butters but they are not pure and I love the Hemp lip balm. I found the staff the last few years to be really pushy especially about their discount card and ill informed about how some ingredients work. That is not really their fault as its the training.
I like LUSH as they are mostly natural. They still have colorings, fragrances and preservatives and synthetic ingredients but they label everything so I can pick out the most natural stuff. Most of the products come in solid form so they dont need preserving and no packaging. The staff is very well trained so they can answer any concerns. You just have to pick and choose if you are concerned about synthetics.
The best bet is the homemade stuff found at craft fairs where you can talk to the crafter about their products. Beware anytime you have a liquid product, a preservative is needed. |
