Here is the ingredients list, which is the 1st thing consumers should always consult before buying ANY product at ANY price! The first thing I see is the vitamin C is Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate which is a water soluble version. And this lotion contains water and probably 60% or greater. Given that it is always in contact with air, the Vitamin C in this formula is going bad and unstable as we speak! I see no evidence that it is encapsulated or protected in any way. The lotion itself is good, although high in synthetics, especially the emulsifying system, which is going to dry your skin out over time. And by the way, the Retinol and Retinyl Palmitate in this formula is probably loaded at 1% or less based on the ingredients list placement of those ingredients.
If you are looking for stable Vitamin C, this isn't the product to find it. The one year stability claim is marketing. Do you know when the batch was made?? How long it sat in a warehouse, how long it sat at a truckstop in Phoenix in a truck at 105F (it can, and does happen to most if not all cosmetic products), etc?? They may be able to find TRACE vitamin C activity after one year to "substantiate" their claim, but I doubt it. Sorry...
