Hi, I've always been interested in facial massage and in facial exercises.
I like to search for new techniques and found this series of videos which I found to be very interesting specially as they remind me somewhat about Sanford Bennett's technique -that is rubbing against certain facial muscle positions...
And this technique is soooo simple!!

There are 3 levels to do the facial detox massage
Level 1 - Take 10 minutes to do the whole routine (1 - Forehead, 2 - Frown, 3 - Eyes, 4 - Nose, 5 - Mouth, 6 - Cheek, 7 - Chin, 8 - Neck, 9 - Back of neck, 10 - Chest.)
The level of pressure go with the level you are doing
For Level 1 (Beginner) - here are the instruction
(1) Lay on your bed
(2) Put and rest your hand (back of your hand)on the forehead.
(3) Shoulder relax
(4) Start the detox stroke (forward and backward motion count as one stroke)
(5) At no time apply any pressure. let the weight of the hand do the work.
(6) 30 strokes to begin with on each section of the forehead (divide the forehead into 6 sections)
(7) Follow by performing the detox massage to the other 9 areas (frown, eyes etc)
( At all time you shoulder is relax - very important(not to stress your shoulder and neck)
(9) Apply moisturizer when you finish.
(10) Perform your Facial detox massage twice a day (when you wake up and before bed time)
After 3 weeks you can progress to level 2
WARNING - For the first 3 days, follow the detox massage as instructed. Failure to follow, you will experience skin burn.
Enjoy the journey - HOW TO FEEL AND LOOK YEARS YOUNGER FOR YOUR AGE |

Thank you so much for the information, Facialdetox.
I do have one question, if you don't mind. Should this massage be done everyday or should one take a day off? I ask because most facial exercise programs recommend taking a day or several off in order to allow the muscles to recover. I know the massage has a little muscle resistance going on but don't know if it's enough to take a break or not. |
You detox your facial muscle for 2 days and one day off for recovery . |

Sorry i did not answer your question correctly.
what i meant was the back of your hand will be smoother and wrinkles free due to the constant massage.
Follow the same principle, your wrinkles and puffiness around your eyes will be reduced.
it does not get worse before getting better.
i have been using the back of my right hand 90% more than the left hand for the past 10 years (on purpose)
As a result, the back of my right hand is smoother and no fine wrinkle as compare to my left hand. |
No sorry, I believe there is a misunderstanding. I am not worried about my hands wrinkling, I am more worried about my undereyes wrinkling. I have been doing this method for 2 days and my eyes are looking a bit tired. Is that normal? Did you go through a phase where your eyes looked worse before they started to look better? Thanks Facial detox. |
Do not over massage your eyes
30 repetitive strokes per area per day
2 days practice and follow by 1 day off to recover
if you over massage you will feel sun burn or skin burn sensation to your eyelids.
have 3 day off to recover.
when i started practicing the massage 10 years ago, i did not experience more wrinkles to my eyes before it get better.I notice with in 3 weeks the puffiness around my eyes subsidized.
more massage does not mean get result quicker,
it is the consistency that get result.
like body building it take time to loose fat and gain muscle. it take consistence training.
since you just started the massage, take a photo now for comparison later (3 months time)
what is the problem around the eye that you wanted to address? |

| I do the entire thing on all areas of my face and neck. It only takes a few minutes each time. I do it twice a day. I think one of the videos shows that it takes exactly three minutes to do from start to finish. |

Hi Bethany - I "try" to do it most days - sometimes twice but not always.
Come to think of it I think my tear troughs are improved also! (but the Pico may also be helping with this)
All in all I'd say this is worthwhile even if not done daily. |

So far, I attribute the forehead massage to two massive pimples I've gotten. I haven't had any 'activity' on my forehead since I was a teenager. I wash my hands before I do any skincare so I'm not transferring bacteria I think it's the friction somehow?
No change in forehead lines but I know it's still early.
My forehead, especially around my brows, seems irritated, I may not continue. Seems like it's not for me. |
Do not worry about the irritation. It is normal. Take 3 days rest and start again. It take 3 weeks of practicing before your skin toughen up. (more is not better) Therefore take your time.
As for your forehead pimple, do not rub on the pimple. go around it.
The pimple will settle down. The pimple could be caused by toxin deposited in the skin breaking out.
As the whole facial skin started to toughen up, the whole facial skin will tighten up and the whole facial muscle will firm up. The fine wrinkle line will start to flatten up. With consistent practicing, the fine wrinkle line will disappear. Expression line will not disappear but will be flatten and become finer.
The final goal is to achieve a Natural Facelift |
