Dadali, I feel your pain! I am also in my fifties battling crater sized pores spouting oil. I too use those little blotting papers and always have them with me, and sometimes use several. I stock pile them From Muji, so cheap, when I am in London just habit; i see you can buy them in other beauty stores like ulta.
I tried Nanoblur first thinking it would stop the oil, even out tone, and mattify - but its a xxxxx to work with, because it wont blend nicely. So now (the last few months, anyhoo) -
Daily I just use a 2% salicyic acid toner on a cotton pad to swipe the grease off (walmart own, just over a buck, then the Seaweed Mattifying moisture from Body Shop, its an spf15. It is a pleasant loose lotion, you need less than you think ( its a bit runny) this is good - there some left over to rub on you hands! Leave for a minute to absorb. (also tried their tea tree pore minimiser over that, meh, not so good, skip it.) Now the magic, how i wished I had found it sooner, dadadadah..- Benefits The Pore fessional. You can put it on under your bb (I use Skin79 Super Bb in the pink samples, amazon or ebay have it; for some reason the samples seem creamer than the pots - each sample lasting about 2-3 days and even worn alone it won't sink into the pore pits
-it gives a lovely wash of pale colour. Wear a cream rouge, or again i am hugely impressed by Benefits Posie and Cha Cha tints that appear less ' made up' and again tend not to clump as do most powder into your pores. Yo can top up
the Pore fessional when you need to during the day over your foundation, around the nose, forehead or chin -prepare to be amazed, this
is awesome stuff - it is not a cure but a brilliant illission (light refectors) Again only a little dab is needed. |
