I have used both but I use just the kit now and am very happy with it. The original broke me out and I didn't see any results to justify the price.
The consistency can be changed with the kit ingredients. I have used thicker the first time but the second time I made it a bit runnier. Didn't seem to matter much, just a personal preference.
I put my jar after it is made in my sonic jewelry cleaner and it really mixes it up to create a broth-like consistency.
I also left out the fragrance second time around.
I cannot say that the kit gives a great noticeable result but it makes a nice lotion/cream. |

ShiningStar, I hate to tell you that your friends are right! CDLM is the only thing that makes my skin glow which I think is very important. However, I have learned from continous use that the 'glow' is superficial. When it comes to barrier repair and moisturizing there are better options out there. I use NIA 24 Intensive Recovery Complex which contains ceramdies and Niacin- this has been shown to be more effective than mineral oil in repairing the skin barrier.
If I were you, I would not use CDLM as an everyday/night cream- this is not only because of the cost but also its performance. I use it as part of my evening regime when I want to look fresh and glowing- sort of like a primer. A layer of CDLM seems to attract every light in the restaurant and I never fail to get a compliment when I have it on. |
