averygsmom, the 4 foundations that you posted, I never tried them before so I can't provide a review. But based on the ingredients if u asked me, I would probably go with Liquid Glow Foundation by Earthen Glow. The reason for that is cuz u mentioned u have acne prone skin and I found the ingredients to be quite simple, nothing complicated to irritate sensitive skin. Also, I believe the oils in the foundation might probably help in balancing your skin and as well, the Aloe Vera Gel is soothing for any skin type.
I could be wrong but it's just my assumption I wish other members can jump in to help too! |

I am definitely not an expert, averygsmom, but I am going to side with Stardustdy here for the same reason, that being the minimal ingredients in the Earthen Glow. The other one that sounded good to me from the ingredients was the Corey Cosmetics. I like the green tea and the neem oil in that, as well as phenoxyethanol, which is supposed to be a bactericide (kills bacteria). I believe that acne prone skin should be careful with Rosehip seed oil (please correct me if I am wrong!). Good luck with whatever one you choose! |

I am not really good at reading ingredients. I am personally using Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer that is oil-free. It has a very sheer coverage and will show every flaw on your face. Also, I am not all that familiar with mineral make-up. I guess I would try a face powder, but I really, really love my Cle de Peau loose powder. But, you can't carry loose powder in your purse. Maybe I will have to look into getting a pressed mineral powder. |

Just a note to review the Earthern Glow foundation. It has light coverage (more towards a tinted moisturizer). The oil control isn't that great (for those of you with oily skin). But it's quite good for those with dry skin who find that the powder mineral make up exacerbates dryness. Earthern Glow have superb customer service who can help you to match the colour. |

Okay, so I hate to bother ya'll in EDS land with this but I know of no more knowledgable source to turn too. For days now I have exhaustively searched the web for a new liquid foundation, I have sensitive, acne prone skin and I know there are many on here more ingredient savvy than I. So for your viewing pleasure, here are "the final four" (March madness for the makeup obsessed). Please weigh in on ingredients/formulations to help me pick a new foundation!

Mad/NCN
Organic Aloe -Hydrating and soothing. Also has a reputed cell regenerative effect on skin
Organic Jojoba - Can increase skin softness by up to 37%, it reduces superficial lines and wrinkles up to 25% upon application and up to 11% after 8 hours. Jojoba oil is hypoallergenic and pure
Reviving Vitamin E - Anti-oxidant and helps in healing as well as collagen synthesis
DMAE- reduces fine lines & wrinkles
Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Oil - Re-moisturizes the skin
Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Oil - Extraordinary skin protection and conditioning benefits
MSM - helpful in treating skin disorders including acne, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, scabies, diaper rash and certain fungal infections |
I am adding one more to the mix...this line was created by a professional makeup artist, and they also do a ton of private label brands. I use their powdered version, as well as the cream concealer.
I am adding this one because it is bismuth AND mica free, plus you can get identical colors across several forms of the makeup. If you are acne prone, you may wish to use a liquid or cream near your eyes, but a powder on the rest of your face (especially if you have oily areas).

Hi Averygsmom,
I have tried NCN's and like it. Truthfully I'm not a big follower of this type of makekup so can't comment above and beyond what RileyGirl said and Bethany. You may want to email Nanci at NCN - she is very helpful and would questions about her product honestly. It's such a trial and error to find the right thing! |

Okay so I am posting on another old thread but I guess that's better than starting a new one. I am looking for a good liquid mineral foundation or just a good liquid, with no talc, oil (well bad oil, EOs are ok), and no silicones or petrols, ok so its a lot to ask! But I have searched the web over and over, I need help! I am just tired of powder minerals, I long for a good liquid! Help! |
I use NCN's Mineral Sheer Tint SPF20 tinted moisturiser. I totally went off powdered mineral makeup - I find this much easier to apply and it leaves a soft dewy look to the skin. You can also try Firming Liquid Minerals. Both are available fromwww.ncnproskincare.com where you can find a list of the ingredients. |

Averygsmom, what about Dr Hauschka's foundation:
(quoted from EDS store):
Description
Designed to even out the complexion and enhance the skin's natural glow, Dr. Hauschka Translucent Make-up has the added benefit of natural, nourishing ingredients. This light make-up helps maintain moisture, giving a dewy, flawless look to the skin. Goes on smooth and stays fresh throughout the day.
Ingredients
Water (Aqua), Alcohol, Anthyllis vulneraria Extract, Carrot (Daucus carota) Extract, Macadamia ternifolia Nut Oil, Avocado (Persea gratissima) Oil, Jojoba (Buxus chinensis) Oil, Glycerin, Althaea officinalis Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) Extract, Rice (Oryza sativa) Germ Oil, Shea (Butyrospermum parkii) Butter, Rose (Rosa gallica) Wax, Beeswax (Cera flava), Fragrance (essential oil), Bentonite, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate [May Contain: +/- Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ultramarines (CI 77007)]
I use it and it is very soothing and mild. Very transparent, I would say though. You would need some powder for more coverage I think. |
