Do you ladies use retin-A by itself or do you mix it with something? I mean just apply it directly to your skin. I'm on obagi maintenance right now but I'm wondering if I need to continue using the blender? I'm using .05 right now but was thinking about bumping up to .1. In your experience are the generic brands just as good as say the obagi brand I've been buying? It sure would be nice to save some $$. When you buy from the website mentioned here, are the expiration dates far enough out that when you buy a quantity (since shipping seems to be the bulk of cost) that they don't expire before you've used them up? Thanks for all the info. |

Hi
Last time I ordered from ADC, it took them a week to process the order and it took less than a week for it to arrive to the UK. |

gonatural,
I am wondering the same thing. I am on my 6th week of Obagi and I just bumped up to the .5 Retin-A. I feel like the cream base is making me oily and still not having a whole lot of peeling? Used Retin-A as a teenager for acne but it was liquid and came in a bottle. Much stronger than what I am using now.
I wonder if it is ok to switch to the gel instead of the cream? Not really sure what the purpose of the blender is and wondering if I wouldn't get better results with straight Retin-A gel instead of blending?? |

Love the results from obagi, but I did have a lot of peeling. I used .05 the whole time without feeling oily. Never used retin-a before this. |

I've been ordering mine from alldaychemist for about a year. The shipping is around $22 and a tube of Retin A is about $3, so it's best to buy a few tubes at a time. |
Can you tell me what the consistency of the retin-a gel from ADC is like? It says it's a gel, but is it? TIA! |

Just wondering how long does it normally take you to get thru a tube ? I dont want to order 5 or so tubes to have them expire on me lol |
Hi Nomi
A tube from Alldaychemist (20g) lasts for about 10weeks, if you just use a large pea sized amount

Thanks I only ordered one tube but if I like it I will order a few next time. Its unbeleivably cheap but of course the postage is the killer lol |

I apply oil first, and then retin-a on top of it, because of it I apply more retin-a then pearl amount, to compensate for "dilluting". Oil also gives additional slip, that helps in spreading retin-a easily. I know that it is not a conventional approach, but I found that it works for me the best. |

How in the heck is Retin A $2.08, from alldaychemist? I couldn't find how much shipping might be without actually ordering.
What kind of prices on shipping? |

Hi Gayle,
Shipping from Alldaychemist was about $20.00 the last time I ordered from them. That's why I buy in bulk when I order from them. I've never had an issue with expiration dates either doing it this way.

I've ordered from inhousepharmacy several times, no problems at all, and it was $18, and they don't charge any shipping.
But, I'm getting antsy, I ordered some and it shipped 6/5, but I haven't received it yet. |

I just received azelaic acid, hydroquinone 4%, and a-ret gel 1% all from alldaychemist.
I've been using retin-a 0.05% cream for nearly a year. On trying the retin-a gel 0.1% last night i was surprised to find the gel was both shiny and greasy, and i found this morning my face wasn't quite as tight/dry as it usually is. I guess what I'm checking is that it is the real thing, is the gel supposed to have this texture and be so emolient.
thanks

Hi Nicola
The retin-a from ADC isnt in an alcohol base, so its less irritating and drying. There's a notepad on MUA listing all the types of retinoids, which I found very useful. i dont have that members name, but if you do a quick board search, you should be able to find it.

Alldaychemist carries the generic brand Retino-A. On another thread I learnt that the main difference between the real Retin-A and the generic brands is the delivery system in the cream, i.e. to which extent the active ingredient is able to penetrate the skin. I guess it's not surprising if the consistency of Retino-A differs from "the real thing". Most people told they had good experiences with the generic brands though.
I have ordered six tubes of Retino-A from ADC. My credit card was charged on June 2nd, but I am still waiting for the package to arrive (I am in Europe). |

Sorry guys, but you need to get a prescription from your general doctor. Retin-A is a prescription drug...
In regards to your question, maybe ask a friend to buy it for you (if she has insurance coverage)?

You won't need a prescription to buy Retin-A and generic tretinoin products from the online pharmacies mentioned in this thread. |
