i just wanted to ask if the preparation gel is a MUST-use? can we just use it directly? THe machine is already expensive, and i dont want to spend money again buying the cream over and over and over! Thanks |
From everything I have read about the device I wouldn't be comfortable using anything but the gel that is recommended.

I just opened this thread today because I was nervous I'd want to buy another gadget. At first I was almost ready to order but then saw Kassy's post about her bad experience, and Keliu's post that it didn't do anything for her. |
Just a note to say that although I did not see any instant "miracle" results from using the STOP I am still happily using it and am currently in maintenance mode. Have still not seen any significant improvement in my jowl area - however, I'm very happy with the way my skin is looking. |

calorblind - you can get Pose gel instead of Stop gel. The gel is the same, they only differ in packaging. Pose gel costs less for the same amount. |

One more thought - $600 is certainly allot to spend on something where there is no guarantee that tangible results will be seen. However, considering the price of high-end skin creams which also come with lots of promises but no guarantee (La Prairie's latest offering is a cellular cream $1,500 for 50ml!) I think gadgets are a much better investment. I stopped buying commercial skin care a long time ago and just use some DIY serums, Retin-A and oils. I have spent a considerable amount on gadgets though - but at least they don't run out, they're a one-off purchase. You just have to be dedicated and make a commitment to using them. |

the web site is selling Stop for $1300 and Pose for $1000. What a rip off On top of it the web site did not specify the manufacturer, or the real names of the devices. |
That is horrible! And I bet people pay it too! |

I haven't used my STOP at all since March and am going to start using it again. I'm going to restart as if I hadn't used it in the past since I have not been doing the maintenance protocol.
Hopefully this will help tighten my skin due to my ongoing weightloss. Since you usually take a hit first with the facial fatloss (vs. where I really want to lose it ), I am hoping that the 20lbs I have lost since March will be it for the time being, and that my face has stabilized. We'll see!
BTW, I am ordering the POSE. I ended up getting myself the Safetox and the POSE for my bday...I justified it since 1) I am single and have no one to buy me gifts, and 2) should I get laid off in this economy I will need to look my best when job searching. How's that for digging deep for justification? |

BTW, I did a STOP treatment on Friday, and can can already feel that the skin on my neck is tighter.
This is one area where I have consistently noticed improvement from the STOP. It's definitely not just inflammation, because the same sensation lasted over the months that I did not use the STOP. |

Hi, just wanted to sneak in here to say if anyone has a STOP they might be interested in selling, could you send me a pm, and we can take it from there?
I am unemployed right now, and while I'm pretty interested in this for post weight loss sag, it's really expensive!
Thanks

I don't think it's a stretch at all (unless you're swimming in cc debt or something). For better or worse, I think unless you have attained a high degree of "fame" in your field & all other things being somewhat equal - appearance plays a large factor in evaluating job applicants. Not necessarily what we think of as "beauty" but how well you match/fit what the interviewer thinks the ideal person looks like... so - fewer obvious "flaws" lets them adjust their picture in your favor...
Same thing for dating. For me, being in a relationship tends to bring out all my insecurities & the next time I decide to go there - I'd just as soon do without the "omg - i look so old" voice in my head
I remember watching 20/20 a long time ago & wondering if my kids might be better off spending their college funds on grooming, plastic surgery & wardrobes!

Thanks! And I know exactly what you mean on the dating front, sigh. I have been hiding from relationships behind my weight for far too long, so it was time to make a change. Plus, the "beautiful people" always end up getting hired first...especially in sales!
As far as justification...guilt is my primary problem. I feel like I *should* be stashing it away in case I get laid off, but I made an exception in this case. I'll just be more frugal on any other purchases going forward, sigh. |

I also get the guilts from buying all these gadgets - but really, it does give me a lot of pleasure to use them. And when you think about it, there's plenty of people that spend copious amounts of dosh on far more hedonistic pursuits.
I'm only sorry that I didn't start earlier, but when you're young you just never think you're going to age - plus, all the gadgets weren't around back then in the dark-ages anyway!
Plus, Bethany, you are master of your own universe, you don't have to answer to anyone - so enjoy the fruits of all your hard labour, there's no need to justify yourself. |

This is very true! There are actually quite a few benefits to being single as a adult. |

Well said and quite true. I've been contemplating a buying a STOP for a while now. I'm so doggone frugal tho. I've actually prayed about it tho and feel good about it. Gotta get over my frugality... |

I am not really a fan of LEDs. But if I was going to buy one (again) I would buy a ProLight Professional. |

I have both the Baby Q and the Anti Aging Lightstim - I much prefer the AALS, it has a larger head and amber lights. Whether it works wonders is debatable, however, I do enjoy using it and do so most nights. It certainly isn't a quick-fix (but what is?) so it does take commitment and dedication.
Bear in mind that the STOP and LED treatments are totally different mechanisms but both are supposed to build collagen. I continue to live in hope. |

STOP and Baby Q each treat the skin in different ways, I have both and use both but you bring up an interesting question I guess it would depend on what problem you are treating. |

calorblind,
I see the results of the Stop being more for dealing with sag in the skin and fine lines and wrinkles.....then the LED lights more for surface issues and I notice plumping of the skin. Both stimulate collagen production but from what your issues seem to be,my thoughts would be the LED lights would offer you the most benefit. |
