Kassy,
great suggestion, I will definitely try it.
Sean - thanks for the update and, please, let us know since we are waiting....
Thanks. |

Hi All - when its available, I think its only fair that it be announced on the FlexEffect forum first, and then perhaps people who check in there and here can let you all know. It won't be fare for me to announce it (I'll be accused of selling again).
There is another very important element that I haven't seen written about that Deb has developed something for that will be worth the wait plus you got the dvd this time demonstrating the stuff (its been filmed already) so its all in the processing. They just want to try and get it as perfect as possible (and thats admirable I think). |

The suggestion of Kassy's to put tongue to roof of mouth and clenching back teeth and chin pointing more upward is similar to the position for many of the neck and jaw exercises in most facial exercises.

Yes Sis, exactly! It was the only thing that stuck with me (regarding exercise) from my very 1st "Facial Magic" (Cynthia Roland) video..
It was a jawline/jowl tightening exercise. I posted it in it's entirety somewhere quite some months ago. Try the shortcut with the massage, and let me know if you feel the *burn*... |

*** One Month Update ***
I've only managed to do the massage about 10 times up until now, but should have the time now to *hopefully* do it more often.
- Immediately following the massage I see some apparent lifting and firming which has typically lasted a day or two. (I'd expect this to be more cumulative, once I'm able to do the massage daily.)
- I posted this a while back in the other thread, but feel it's worth repeating as it's quite effective. All throughout the massage, not only do I keep my back teeth clenched (as instructed), but I also find that if I keep my tongue firmly pressed into the roof of my mouth, with my head tilted slightly upward, my neck and entire jawline are getting a tremendous workout... You will feel the burn by the end of the massage, and it definitely intensifies the results for me. (To get an idea, right now while you're reading this; tilt your head upward till you feel the stretch in your neck, and now clench your back teeth, and firmly plant your tongue to the roof of your mouth.. (feel the firmness with your fingers under your chin!) Anyway, just sharing what is working well for me, in case it helps others. ...
- It's also nice to finish up this massage with the "tapping" all over that I learned from Flex Effect.
Can't wait to see what a couple of weeks of daily massage can do.
*Disclaimer*...Please exercise your right to either ignore or try my suggestions above at your own risk.. |
thank you so much for updating us! and thanks for the tips too. i'm always looking for new techs to incorporate into my massage. makes it different each time, and makes it more easier to focus&understand specific areas. also i love some of the lym massages that can be seen on you tube. i use the tanaka massage as the foundation, and on ambitious days i add in the extras from other massages.
i do the tanaka as part of my cleansing routine, and its something i look forward to. its especially nice to wind down with at the end of the night... very soothing and relaxing. i'm so happy that critic introduced this to us... as i feel more happier and healthier for it.
i love the fact that it is free, at my convenience, and i have total control of my skincare. |

critic,
what is your routine now. still twice a day, everyday? anything new that you're incorporating? how are the results.... are they getting better and better?
when you have time, lets look into something from facial yoga? soft stretching of the face and neck. i would love to do some soft, gentle, relaxing facial yoga. is it popular in asia? |

Sean, i'm also eager for the new dvd
Kassy, i'm going to try your technique tonight...it sounds 'rejuvenately' intense to add this to the already intense Tanaka massage
Tanaka's massage has always looked and felt very intense to me..in a positive way...when she performs it..and i am always a bit amazed to hear people speak of it as gentle...i am feeling that many of us are inadvertedly practicing it in different ways from each other..but with positive results for our own skin issues.)
This has definetely become my number one regenerative technique.
Sigma is there something significant you have learned from the japanese to english translation that you purchased online that you haven't gotten thru the DVD or the free russian to english translation? |

| This is an excellent technique, although i can be very self critical, the (many) comments i've received in the past few weeks have me walking on cloud 9. I think oil cleansing is very helpful also. Thanks again critic |

morning jackie,
sorry that is not organized for lymphatic. this is copy that i sent to my friend so that he can try downloading and burning the dvd for me. later i'll do the lymphatic only list, which i have to do anyways. HTH
i don't even know if the below is well organized, it takes me forever to do anything on the computer. (i'm not a hi-tech person). maybe later i'll go through each one and re-organize the categories. i initially did this in a frenzy since i didn't want to lose any of the info.

jackie,
if you have a sluggish lymphatic system, i know i do from my sedentary lifestyle and being an EDS freak doesn't help, i would think doing cardio, yoga, and drinking lots of water per day, should help. a little is better than nothing.
i'm feeling guilty as i'm saying this... haven't been to the gym for awhile. |

jackie, i would for free, since the members here have been so super to me... they really helped me and took their time, which i appreciate enormously. i really would, but i don't trust everyone here... and i don't want to get in any trouble.
if my friend figures out how to download and burn, i'll post the program on the massage threads. if he can't figure it out, i'll find someone else... there are alot of analyst and programmers in my neighborhood... and i can be a pushy chick when need be! |

You know whats excellent for the lymph and skin, and is a relatively quick process you can do is skin brushing. Physical activity is great for the lymph, because unlike our circulation which has the heart to pump it around, the lymph only really gets utilised with activity such as rebounding and skin brushing etc.

llina thank you so much for putting all that together. I seem to get lost trying to find where all the video are and which link is for what video....
I can report that I have been the Tanaka massage for a couple + weeks with days off here and there. I don't see a dramatic difference but I can tell my skin loves it. I have been breaking out especially around my mouth area which I attribute to experimenting with combining the OCM with the massage; my guess is my skin is purging. |

Hi,
If you remember a couple of month ago Sigma posted a link to the Russian site http://faceculture.ru/asahi.php.
I just found another Russian site/forum that has the same material and in addition has a similar but more comprehensive material on the same topic. What is interesting about this, is that it is broken down into five age categories: from 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60.
I had to register in order to have an access to pictures/animations.
Hope it helps. |

no problem, i hope you enjoy it. yes, there's so much info... and it really is wonderful and natural to boot. i think that all these extra massages just do that little extra for you!
keep with it. i have very sensitive skin and critic told me to go very gentle. sometimes i get anxious and want to catch up with everyone but that's not a smart thing to do. go at your own pace, read your body, and use common sense... if all fails, ask critic. she is super nice!
i also think critic mentioned NOT to overdo it. |

I read the Tanaka book again this morning, she said you should press the bone around your eyes when you are doing the eyes one. Don't push your skin. |

I am new to this forum and massage.
(1) Would like to check if it is necessary to purchase the book (my Chinese is not that good) or are the techniques shown in the youtube videos sufficient to start doing the massage? Is there anything else we need to look out for?
(2) How does one schedule the Tanaka massage with other facial exercises? Do Tanaka in morning and others in the evening or vice versa?
(3) Is this technique suitable for a big apple-shaped face?
(4) I noticed her method did not include exercises for the neck. Is there a good one that anyone can recommend?
Thanks for your help!

1) Am I also right to say that Exercise #3 for the mouth and Exercise #10 that reduces double chin which ends in thumb behind ear are the only 2 exercises that do not end with the movement from ear to collarbone?
2) Can we do some but not all the exercises?
Tks |

welcome JJ,
i think, someone correct me if i'm wrong, tanaka massage is a lymphatic massage as well as having great benefits of anti aging. the idea to stimulate and circulate blood flow, to move toxins from the face and help it pass down the collar bone. it would be beneficial to do the whole massage, go gently if there are areas that you're concerned with (ie sensitivity), and can repeat steps for area(S) that you need more work on. i hope this helps.
can anyone else clarify for JJ?
