Tessie, I have a machine that removes skin tags but if I have a client with a tag, full frontal, on the face, I would definitely send her to a derm. I don't think anyone would slip up and harm your eye but I wouldn't want to take responsibility for any scarring, no matter how small, that could occur.
Go to the derm. You're self conscious about this and you'll feel so much better once it's gone.
By the way, I removed a small mole and a slightly larger mole from different areas of my face and although they scabbed and it seemed like they were red forever, they're gone now with no residual marks.
Good luck Tessie! |

I have gotten black salve, bloodroot, and the Total Care Body Wash from bestonearthproducts com before. I actually read a lot of information about it at a different site called blacksalveinfo com That is where it talks about detecting skin cancer and skin tags and mole removal, there are pictures of people who had success using the salves. Pretty interesting site. The body wash is amazing for medicinal purposes! |

Hi Yogi,
I personally used the black salve for a melanoma and friends and family have used the bloodroot for skin tags, one for a non-cancerous mole. I had 2 translucent skin spots, about dime size, on both sides of my face along the line where the upper and lower jaws meet. They were like extra skin and developed over a few years in the sun. The dermatologist said they were pre-cancerous and wanted to burn them off. I was not about to do that, just too nervous. So I started using the Total Care Body Wash that blacksalveinfo talks about, under the section regarding cancer detection. It took about a month and the spots are totally gone! I love this stuff!! People talk about using it for acne and some other things like psoriasis. I was reading about it on another forum and there was a lot of positive feedback. Another friend of mine has been using it on her face and neck, and recently visited relatives who noticed a change in the scar on her neck. She had thyroid surgery which left a noticable scar, and I guess it diminished the scar tho the point that her sister could see a big difference. Anyway, I just get excited when something works, especially something that is not a toxic checmical Isn't that site cool? Glad you liked it! Bye for now. |

So if you use the cotton method, you leave the cotton ON for a few days til it drops off? |

Wow - this info. is so interesting! I have a small (~3mm) protruding light-colored mole on the line between my lower lip and chin and I wanted to get it removed, but when my GP tried to use liquid nitrogen, it just bllistered and then got bigger. Did you notice any problems with marks left after using the Black Salve on your moles? I'm worried about just making it look worse! Thanks! |

Hi, I would personally not use black salve on the face if you want to avoid any scarring at all. Instead I would use that Total Care Body Wash, and just apply it at night and leave it on until morning. Do that for 30-60 days from what other people are saying, and watch to see what changes occur. It doesn't scar like other treatments. Any change is a good sign! It may take longer than if you were to put salve on it, but if you read some of those testimonials on blacksalveinfo com, the body wash doesn't leave scars, it just kills the bad tissue, it dries up and then vanishes. Pretty cool, as I like to say |

I have some skin tags on the front of my neck that I'd like to get rid of. Also a mole on the inside of my leg that irritates me. I've seen some ointment/ oils being sold online to remove skin tags and moles. Some names are Dermatend, Pristine Herbal Touch Wart & Mole Vanish, Dermasil, Bloodroot Salve, etc. I'm going away for a week or so but may order one when I get back. Any experience with these type of products? |
I have heard that Bloodroot Salve is quite effective for the removal of skin tags and moles. I need to have two moles biopsied and intend to use Black Salve to remove them should the results comes back as cancerous. The success rate using Black Salve is something like 97% and it eliminates the need to under-go skin grafts, etc. BTW - Black Salve is not to be confused with Bloodroot Salve - both will remove moles, however, one detects cancer and the other does not. This is the company I will likely use to buy both products from once I'm ready to order - http://bestonearthproducts.com/products1.htm - HTH's. |
This is interesting, ScotsLass! Any information on how the Black Salve detects the cancer? I know you are having them tested (wisely) but was just curious, if you'd heard anything about the details. I'm going to save that website so thanks! |
Hi Scalawaggirl - Black Salve is a product that is typically comprised of zinc chloride (15%-20%); a concentrated amount of juice or powder from the root of a Sanguinaria Canadensis plant (aka - Bloodroot); and a few other herbs. The Sanguinaria Canadensis plant is indigenous to North America and it's roots (which produce a dark red juice - hence the name Bloodroot), have been used for many years by Native Americans to treat conditions of the skin such as ringworm, warts, polyps, fungal growths and most noteworthy, cancerous moles.
From what I understand the Bloodroot juice is an escharotic - a substance that kills tissue. This explains how it is able to remove skin tags and moles. How this plant also identifies and removes unhealthy cancerous skin (cells) is still a mystery to everyone. I am also not certain yet how the Black Salve product differentiates between cancerous and non-cancerous moles - except to tell you that it will not have any effect on skin that is healthy. It simply ignores it upon application. This is what blows my mind away and why many people use it as a 'detection' aid. There are possible consequences of using the Black Salve directly this way, so I do not advise anyone to go this route. I would suggest a biospy first, this way you know exactly what you are dealing with and can have the mole tested following the Black Salve treatment to determine it's effectiveness. Should you apply the Black Salve before you know what type of cancer you have (and if it has spread internally), you may inadvertantly cover up a more serious problem. You also will not know what type of skin cancer you orginally had.
A better suggestion would be to try the Total Care Body Wash from Best On Earth Products (the site I listed in my post above). This product is touted as a "spot hunter" as it forms little black spots and sometimes red patches when it comes into contact with unhealthy skin tissue. It is a mild wash and formulated with the same herbs as the salves only with less potency and some light modifications to help the skin itself. Many people report that it also helps tremendously with eczema, psoriasis, and acne.
As the for the full strength Black Salve - it will create an eschar (aka - large hole) as it eradicates the cancer. I was a bit frightened when I reviewed pictures of an eschar in action (VERY, VERY GROSS!!!). However, I've decided I can handle this much more than the alternative of surgery and skin-grafts. This treatment is not without pain either - so a good dose of X-strength Ibuprofen is suggested once the process of removing the cancer begins. I came across this link to a skin-cancer survivor who used Black Salve ON HIS FACE and documented the effects over several weeks. I must forewarn you - the pictures are very graphic. Do not view while eating! http://public.fotki.com/Anivoc/xxterra/
I would also be extremely careful about applying Black Salve to any area of your face - it is INSANELY powerful and cannot be "stopped" once the process begins.
HTH's a bit Scally - and sorry I couldn't give you any 'scientific' explanations of the wonders of this amazing herb! |

Hi Liz - welcome to the forum! I found the Best On Earth website a few weeks ago and am in total awe of their products! It's great to meet someone else who is just as enthused about these products, and has already used the Total Care Body Wash with great results! I am also thrilled to learn that it worked so well on your face. I have two transparent-colored moles that are going to be biopsied (one on my shin and the other on my back), but also have an annoying mole under my eye and near my nose that concerns me. I do not want to mess around with the Black Salve on my face, and had my fingers crossed that the Total Care Body Wash would solve the problem without the risk of scaring. Based on your account, I can't wait to try this stuff with the hopes that I have the same level of success as yourself!
I do have a question for you - did your Derm biopsy the moles or spots on your face before he/she wanted to burn them off? Or did he/she simply give you a verbal/visual opinion? I recently read that there are specific tests available to determine the area's of concern are cancer-free after treatment (regardless of how you removed them). I am not sure how this applies to pre-cancerous moles though - is there a test for them also?
Thanks again for sharing your experience with this product line! |

You're welcome! I am just about to place an order with Best On Earth for a jar of Black Salve, a jar of Bloodroot Salve and a bottle of Total Care Body Wash. Thanks to my scottish heritage, I am literally covered in moles and freckles (with the exception of my face - THANK GOD!). I am hoping these products will resolve a lot of the headaches I have trying to monitor the shapes, sizes and colors of my mole-y body. It would be SOOOOOO wonderful if they all simply disappeared or fell off with the body wash - I really hope this is the HG of cancerous and non-cancerous mole removal!!!!!!! |

Hi there! Did you get your body wash yet? I actually had a derm look at them but didn't do the scraping for biopsy because he said he has seen a million of them and this was the same type of pre-cancerous that leads to basal cell cancer. Not sure if there are really any tests for these translucent type of moles, since they are so very thin, I am just glad they are gone! I got the body wash a while back after another friend suggested it to me, then just last month I saw the post on blacksalveinfo com about the "detecting cancer" I am sure the Dermatologists don't want people to find this product, lol. |

I recently read (I think it was my Sunday paper, natural pharmacy section) that people are having success getting rid of skin tags with a liquid band-aid product from the drugstore. Apply this liquid band-aid to skin tag til it shrivels up and dies! I don't have any right now (took care of them about a year ago with Compound W!), but when mine reoccur I'm trying the liquid bandaid! |

Hey Liz - I am just about to place my order for the body wash, so I hope to have it within the next week (give or take). I think the translucent moles that were on your face are different from mine. The two that concern me are quite raised and very firm, though the skin covering them appears thin. I'm following my intuition about having them biopsied because both of them are located near a bone, and both of them irritate me in different ways (one is itchy the other nicks and bleeds too easily...which is very suspicious to me!). I also have a flat mole on my stomach that contains various shades of dark pigmentation and looks like a 4-leaf clover. It has been suggested I get this biopsied, but I feel less worried about this particular mole because I've had it for as long as I can remember and it hasn't changed in any noticeable way. This is why I cannot wait to use the Total Care Body Wash...hopefully repeated use of it will shed some light about the various moles all over my body!
I also reviewed a lot of interesting material onwww.blacksalveinfo.com andwww.earthclinic.com about treating skin cancer with Black Salve. Simply put, you cannot patent things that grow naturally. So the big Pharma companies have no interest in creating a 'natural' product that a Derm can use, it just isn't enough of a cash cow for the greedy buggars! So you are right, your Derm will not tell you about this amazing product. Hopefully this will change in the future as more and more people experience first-hand success with Black Salve and spread the news about it. I must admit, the success rate this herb has in treating ALL types of skin cancer, in addition to removing skin tags and normal moles is extremely impressive! My attitude is I have nothing to lose by trying it (with or without the approval of my Derm ). |

Thankyou Scots Lass and Liz for bringing this herb to my attention. I have some solar kerastoses (think that's how it's spelt) and my doctor just says as they are non-cancerous nothing can be done but I will certainly try this product. As they are on my face I'll go for the body wash. I would love to get rid of them,as I am really self-concious about them, so fingers crossed! |

oops, should have done a search first--- here's what I just posted in a new thread:
Ok, now before you guys get all grossed out from hearing the words "skin tags," I just want to make sure that you know that they weren't even "tags" per se--- just bumps too small to see, but I could feel them and I wanted them gone, so I went to the dermatologist. Besides, what if she got bigger with time, right? I'm not about to turn into one of those middle-aged women that has all kinds of stuff hanging off of her! She used some sort of electric wand and burned them off--- and I must say, it was a surprisingly unpleasant procedure! (You guys know that part in Dune where Paul Muad'Dib sticks his hand in the box and smells his own flesh burning? Yeh it was like that.) (Hahaha, ok, so Frank Herbert is hardly Baudelaire--- what can I say, I'm pretty geeky...) However, all in all I'm glad to just have them gone, whew! |

I think this is the link you want that has the body wash on it:
http://bestonearthproducts.com/products.php?cat=7
When you are on that page, they also have a separate page you can link to for the black salve products.
Please keep us posted on your thoughts as you use it! |

if it is a very tiny skin tag,i just take a pair of tweezers and spray with a cologne to sterilize it and just give it a little puncture....it works every time..as there is no blood supply to the tag.it shrivels and dies.. |

Hey there - I'm having some difficulties myself...apparently they don't ship to Canada even though the website clearly states they ship worldwide . I'm also miffed buy their lack of customer service. Like yourself I sent them an email (last week) and have not heard back yet. Very curious....
Did you manage to place an order at all? I'll PM Liz and ask her how she placed her order and if she would post her experience here. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. |

Hi Liz. When you used the Total Care Body Wash on your face and the moles dried up, did they form brownish or black scabs? Sorry to be gross but I've ordered the Body Wash and want to be prepared
And were you left afterwards with any marks on your skin?

Hi again - I heard back from Liz who said a friend of her's tried to place an order recently and was unable to because the Best On Earth website is having A LOT of difficulties with it's check-out cart. Her friend resolved this by calling them directy at 817-741-0799 and placed her order with no difficuties.
I decided to call the number to check it out and spoke with a lovely lady named Cindy. She informed me that they are still in the process of trying to fix the check-out cart problems and that YES, THEY DO SHIP WORLDWIDE!!! She was very shocked when I told her that the Google check-out window on her site indicated otherwise. I also asked her why I haven't received a reply to my emails, and again she seemed very surprised. Her system is set-up so that emails sent via that inquiry form are directed to another individual first. That person then forewards them to her. I am certain she is investigating this matter further as I'm writing this, and told me that I can use the email address at the bottom of the contact page for future correspondence. This will ensure mail goes directly to her - info@bestonearthproducts.com. She also hopes to have her 1-800 number up and running by tomorrow. I would email her and ask if it's ready should you want to place your order via phone soon. HTH's!
ETA: I am going to wait until Monday to place my order as I need to do a bit more research now that I've gained some additional info (I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want the salve with the DSMO in it or not). |

I don't have a skin tag experience, but I do have several of the seborreic keratoses on my torso, which are ugly and I HATE. My insurance won't pay to remove them as they are considered cosmetic.
So, after I found out about Iodine, when I joined a forum specifically for those interested in health and well being from use of Iodine, and found out it could remove skin lesions, I gave it a try.
And, guess what?? It WORKS. I tried it on one large one to start with. It took 2 weeks, applying it 2x a day. It is now gone, and I'm now putting it on about 10 more; 3 small ones are almost all gone already.
I also put some on a hard lumpy scaly spot on my scalp which was getting larger, and it got rid of it. It had been on there for about 6 months or so.
I can just about bet it would remove a skin tag in a few days, since they are so soft.
This is NOT Iodine you buy in a drugstore. Although that could work, I don't know. It's Lugol's. I also take 2 drops daily in a glass of water for health benefits. No more acid reflux.
It has also been said to get rid of age spots and other skin lesions, so far, I don't know.
It has left a light brownish spot, which looks to be fading daily. But needless to say, I'm very happy. I've taken some B/A pics, and if anyone wants to see, I'll post them them.
If anyone is interested in Lugol's, just google it, and you'll come up with a lot of info on it; the stuff has been around for 75+ years. |
