yajo. thanks for your reply. It is hard isn't it but you seem to have good results with the laser. I have considered it but am hesitating. The dermatologist I saw said it is the only thing that really works with broken capillaries. Regarding creams I have tried with little to no results on redness and broken capillaries
Prevage from Elizabeth Arden
different ones from Estee Lauder
Dr Haushka, may have helped a bit but I find it to be too drying and caused breakouts.
Cellcosmet, both the activating gel and the ultra vital seemed to bring them out even the ultra vital on its own did not help.
Remergent for a month or so with no change but had a bad reaction with the antioxidant lotion (won't use it again but may try the others to finish the products).
I am trying Gernetic and so far so good but it is early to tell. Harriet
I feel more unhappy with the broken capillaries than the redness as my redness is not as bad and when I use a sunscreen with a bit of a white cast it helps, then I just use a bit of bronzing powder if I look too ghostly.
I had a sample of Pevonia but did not really like it and it was too early to tell if it would do anything for redness. |

Yes harriet this what my beautician told me also. Laser is the only one thing that really works on broken capillaries. She said : I can work on redness but not on capillaries. This is when she introduced me Valmont soothing cream and priority cream. She is the one that finally convince me to go there, she had before the same treatment.
I understand you in your hesitation. It was a long process for me. And yes I am very happy with the results. I still have redness on my nose but for capillaries I must say that at least 80% are gone after 2 treatments. |

I am sorry !! I should start by thanks for your reply harriet
An in terms of make up products, I use a green cover of Make Up for ever when I am very red + Compact powder SPF 20 of Guerlain + Mineral Powder SPF 20 of Prescriptives.
As a sun protection I used Prep + Prime spf 50 of MAC. This is my last nice discovery. You apply this product on your usual day cream.
Let me know about Gernetic please. |

Finacea gel works wonders as well for the redness. I have been on it for several months and it has been great for the redness and pustules. It really has helped even out the skin tone. |

Thank you AnnieR,
I am a bit afraid about product that contain Azelaic acid. I used a product Intensive anti-redness serum from Swiss Line which has a strength concentration of this ingredient and I had a very bad experience with it. I had a dry red spot on the nose that take me a lot of time to recuperate.
Where do find this product ? |

I was hesitant at first too, but it did not irritate my overly sensitive skin at all.
It is by prescription, but you can also order the generic form through places like inhousepharmacy.com and others. I use it only at night and a pea sized amount. There was a thread on it, if you use the search, that actually got me started on it here.
Welcome, by the way! |

Thanks again AnnieR
This interest me at the point that I make a research on the net to see exactly what it is. I think that I understand better now. Azelaic acid is basically an anti-acne ingredients. That is probably why people who has acne rosacea get results with that.
Secondary effect with this is dry and red spot. Exactly what I got with Swiss Line.
I don't have acne rosacea. No eruptions on my skin. I have redness due to couperose and erythrose. This ingredient is probably to tough for me. Unfortunately |

In my opninion the dermo (soothing cream) is the best.
I have tried also the priority cream which is good also but a bit to greasy. Therefore this one has a SPF protection.
I will report soon on the Dermotosic serum that I just ordered here |

Some of my friends tried sophyto skin drops, said there's no apparent effect on redness, but it's really helpful for acne. |

I just get the Valmont's Dermotosic serum. Very anxious to see the result.
I had a Valmont diagnostic last Tuesday. Very high tech and special machine that analyse 4 qualities of the skin.
Wrinkles
Sun damage
Sebum secretion
Pores quality
This machine confirmed that I also have some broken capillaries on the neck A other thing
The Valmont representative suggest me the essential cream for the day instead of the soothing. Essential cream will work on capillaries strength and the soothing on the skin irritation and sensitivity but for the night. |

I just wanted to say that I have recently discovered a product called 'Arubix' made by Sicobel Labs.
It is an anti redness cream containing Golden Chamomile. Double blind trials/clinical studies have found it to be very effective on redness/couperose/rosacea.
It comes in 3 formulations - one for dry/sensitive skin, one for normal/combination skin and an SPF 50+.
I decided to give it a try in desperation and have been using it about three weeks.
Now I wasn't going to post until I was sure it wasn't coincidence as the studies show that usage over a period of 10 - 12 weeks shows optimal results but I have decided to share my experience as I know how distressing the redness can be.
First I would like to add a caveat that my rosacea/couperose is not a severe form - I get very red cheeks which show some small capillaries when it is flushed and I recently begun to get a few break outs; I am prone to break outs on my T Zone but this was different and on my cheeks. My GP said there was nothing she could do for the redness and to avoid triggers. I have always been prone to blushing and have had redness previously but have usually been able to remove the cause from my skin care routine (I have previously used glycolics and other actives without reaction). However this year my skin rebelled (following a great deal of stress) and went red on my cheeks, dry and flaky all over while oily at the the same time. If I treated one condition it aggravated the other, I tried basic stuff like cutting out all actives and just using a mild Ph balanced cleanser and emu oil and while this didn't make things worse it didn't improve things either.
After doing several google searches and following a disappointing visit to my GP who told me it was mild rosacea and at the stage it was there was nothing she could do; I found the Arubix and so ordered the 'S' version (dry sensitive).
I found the texture to be light, soothing and non greasy. It sinks straight in and my skin felt calmed. I use it twice a day.
By day 2 I woke up and gingerly looked in the mirror expecting the usual morning 'extra red' that takes most of the day to fade and to my surprise the redness had faded!
Now this can happen occasionally anyway so I tried not to get too excited. Long story short my dry flakiness has gone, my breakouts have healed and the more to the point the redness has practically gone! I have had one flush a week (upon waking)in the first few weeks (am starting my 4th) but they have faded much more quickly and I find if I blush at work or get hot my sking returns to normal much more quickly.
So far this week apart from a small flush yesterday morning (which faded in less than an hour) my skin has been fine.
I would definitely give this a go - I don't know how effective it would be on severe or long standing Rosacea (I don't think it will remove visible capillaries for example) but it does seem to help with the over all redness.
At £20ish per tube (here in the UK) I figure it was worth a shot and so far the gamble has paid off. I have found things that have helped before but usually the results have been short term (days) so I am optomistic that the Arubix is going to continue to be effective - will update as to progress.
