Is it true that if it's a physical sunscreen, you don't have to wait 15-20 minutes? It works right away? |

I love Coola. It's organic and goes on like a lotion. No white pasty mask-like thing. It's also great if you run or bike on hot days it stays put and you won't have "white" sweat dripping down your face. |

Kimberly Sayer makes a really good one that is SPF25. As far as I recall its pretty natural but its also really high in lavender oil. It's quite strong in the scent and though its antiaging (I guess its the SPF they mean) its a bit drying because of the lavender oil.
I want to add something in it to reduce the drying effects as I already have dry skin and got the cream instead of lotion but it makes no difference. Otherwise its a great sunscreen that doesnt break me out.
Coola doesn't use physical blockers that is why it doesnt go on white but i looked at the unscented one and the inactive ingredients are lots of EO like neroli and patchouli!
They call that unscented? |

The best subnlocks come from Australia
Natural Instinct Mineral Sunscreen is one of them.
http://www.naturalinstinct.com.au/sunscreen_info.php
It lasts longer than 4 hours and free from chemicals and fragrance, not greasy at all. Didn't cause breakouts, reasonably priced. |

just bought this to try, since my tube of Image ss went "off." i'm not sure about this "zinclear" ingredient, it seems to curdle up in the formulation.
will let you all know how it goes!

Burnout has two chemical free, zinc oxide based sunblocks - - Clean & Clear Eco Sensitive SPF 32 and Ocean Tested Physical Sunscreen SPF 30+ (there's also a 3rd one for kids). I have tried both. I find the Eco Sensitive version to leave a matte finish. The Ocean Tested version doesn't leave a matte finish but spreads more easily. Last year the Ocean Tested version was not zinc oxide based. If I remember correctly, it had titanium dioxide and some chemicals. It has since been reformulated to remove the chemicals and now has zinc oxide as the active ingredient. |
I must have missed this comment before. If the "Ocean Tested" version spreads more easily than the eco sensitive one then I'm going to have to try it. |

I hate it when companies don't publish ingredients lists (for sunscreen, publishing the % of zinc oxide is a MUST)
This is actually another reason why I believe US physical sunscreens are the best- most of them brag about their ingredients. It's my experience that it's the ingredients of the non-US sunscreens products that can be difficult to track down. |

I have tried all 3 versions. My personal favourite is the Kid's version. It spreads more easily than the Eco-Sensitive Oil-free and it isn't as oily as the Ocean Tested. However, if you're going swimming, you might prefer the Ocean Tested because it is more moisturizing than the other two. |

The tube doesn't say more than the site:
Active Ingredient: zinc oxide 200mg/g
contains Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate. |

Hi maheen and every1,
I've been using clarins uv plus protective day screen spf 40. It says it is 100% mineral sunscreen, is this the same as physical ?
I have really loved the product so far. It leaves a faint whiteish tint but nothing 2 bad, just so long as u don't use 2 much. It is the only product of this type that doesn't bring me out in spots. It does contain fragrance but luckily it doesn't irritate my skin and I find the fragrance really pleasant when applying. xx |

For reference, I emailed Natural Instinct and they stated that they do not use nanotechnology in their products.
Australia sunscreen manufacturers do not reveal full ingredients. They are only required to disclose the actives and the preservatives. |

I was curious if anyone could shed some more info on how the Devita Solar Body Block compares with the Pratima Neem Rose as far as the finishing feel. I have oily combo skin if that helps.

Just to confirm, people are using the DeVita Solar Body Block for the body AND face? |

It depends on your skin and preference from what I've read about the Solar Block. Some find that the one intended for the body to be lighter and more economical for its size compared to the daily moisturizer.
I have the Pratima, Devita Solar Block, and Devita Ultra Solar 50 coming my way soon. Will see how they compare in finish and feel.
Also found this niffy link of the current physical sunscreens on the market with all the ingredients and prices.

Amarise, please report back on how the sunscreens feel on your skin and how they seem to work. I have been wanting the Pratima for a long time, but don't hear hardly anything about it. I also am interested in the Devita US 50. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about them! |

Amarise--do you know if those are all fragrance free? I'm doing obagi right now anything with any fragrance burns.
Also, was wondering if you had found a site that sells all 3? Finding sites that sell 1 but not all 3. |

Well, can tick pretty much all the boxes on your list except it's only spf 30.
The produc tis Obagi Rosaclear Sunblock with 15.5% zinc oxide and 2% titanium dioxide. It is light, non-greasy, mildly tinted, reduces blotchiness and does not leave a ghostly sheen.
Been using it for over a year now and am sticking with it.

Well I just took the plunge and ordered the DeVita Ultra Solar 50 and am thinking of order the Body Block. I looked at the Pratima and although no added fragrance, I thought I read someone's post that said the natural scent was still pretty strong. Aside from the potential burning effect, I don't really care for strongly scented facial products, particularly floral ones. Can anyone else here comment on the scent of the Pratima? |

I definitely will. I had been waiting for their online shop to pop up but just decided to order it by phone.

The Pratima does have essential rose oil and from what I read, it does have a fragrant rose smell. Personally I like the way rose smells, it's a unique smell that some people either love or hate. The Devita Solar Block 30 has Essential Oils of Lavender and Chamomile towards the end of the list but reviews via MUA I've read say it has a light almond smell to it. The Devita 50 doesn't have any essentials oils and can't tell from the ingredients what it would smell like. It does have increased Vit C, not sure if that affects you being on Obagi. Hope that helps some.
Technically, Amazon.com carries both the Devita 30 and Devita 50 on their site. As of right now the only way to order the Pratima one is thru their site by phone. You could wait until their online shop opens, though I don't reckon when that will be. I ordered the Devita Professional line Travel Kit since I want to try their Vit C serum, ECM5/Extra Cellular Matrix Pentapeptide, and Copper Peptide based serum as well.
Here are some old threads about the Pratima sunscreen.

re: devita ultra solar 50--
can this really, truly be sunblock? does it really work? it seems to good to be true.
seriously.
perfect, fluffy, emollient texture, completely sheer, leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.
i'm actually scared to wear this is the sun.
please, somebody, attest to its protectiveness!
if this really works as sunscreen, then we have a winner.
