I have oily, dehydrated skin. Will Vitamin C serum make it worse or help make it better? What should I do? Thanks and sorry for posting this here. I feel like i'm undergoing 1/4 what you are undergoing. |

I dont know if mattiscool is still following this thread..if so, my thought is that your skin doesnt like water, it might be good to stop using water on your face.
Mistymom, I hope you get the answers you need in this thread, if not maybe start a new one!
Afaik, vit c wont change the issues that you mentioned, but perhaps someone else knows more than I on this one.
There's tons of info here, so do some searches and get reading! Good luck with your skincare and welcome to eds! |

I've used the CeraVe for a month now and it doesn't seem to be doing anything : (
This is so frustrating!!!
Is there a device or instrument, clinical or home use, that can take a snapshot of the skin itself?
I know skin biopsy's can be taken for skin diseases, but I'm unsure if my case will qualify.
It might just help find out what exactly is wrong at a cellular level. |

Perhaps investigate ayurvedic approach to pacifying Vata problems, and go to a good acupuncturist. Time to treat your bodies energy field and temperament.
Good luck. |

Mattiscool, you Need to stop using cosmetic products on your face. At this Point, anything you do will only make things worse. I know this truth is hard to accept but you should have stopped using products a Long time ago and let your Skin heal itself. I don't blame you for that. I made the same mistakes and I am a few years older than you are. It took me a year to realise that my Skin wanted to be left alone.
You can trust your Skin and I promisse you that once you stop using ANY Kind of product, your Skin will improve dramatically. Once it has healed, you can start introducing products again, starting with a moisturizer and exfoliation.
Whether you can wash your face with water or not I don't know. I think water won't harm your Skin (ofc lukewarm and not longer than 45 sec).
You should never believe what ever you read on reddit or other site, especially Paulas Choice or other Commercial sites.
They do not know your Skin like you do, they try to sell you stuff, they still promote a Cleanser-Toner-Exfoliation-Moist-SPF Dogma that simply doesn't work for many People.
Paulas Choice doesnt even know about dehydrated Skin. They call it "oily" and sell paper to take the oil away which is horribly wrong because your Skin Needs this oil for protection. It is produced for that matter alone. Forget them, if they don't know about this they know nothing. |

I just had a skin issue after a streak of nice skin. I got a fungal infection from eating the wrong foods and it showed up on my face. My chin and sides of nose was flaking, itchy and raw.
Out of desperation and some gut instinct I put some raspberry seed oil on it after trying coconut which is my go to for anything skin but it did not work this time. Instead it made my face more dry and itchy.
Well, the raspberry seed oil did the trick. Later on I looked it up and it has high amounts of vitamin a and e and is a great anti imflammatory too. My skin has healed alot after two days of use. I'm not saying it will fix your situation but it's worth a shot. I got mine from Joppa Minerals.
Originally I had got it to use as a sunscreen but I didn't care for the smell. At this point I'm so happy to have my skin heal I will tolerate it. |
