Haven't been on here for AGES, but I still peek to see what others are discussing. It's a shame EDS has become so quiet lately...the "other" skincare forum (assuming it's the one I think it is, with a few EDS members on there too) got too bitchy/spammy for my liking and I upped sticks a few years back. Barely even look on there; when I do, there's a lot of gossipy "waffle" that puts me off reading.
I always found EDS members more knowledgeable, patient, and friendly (though having decent Moderators helps too) than the "other".
When I last read/contributed regularly I did think, "there's a lot of enthusiastic talk about Ageless Secret" a while back, and a flurry of hype on forum threads always puts me off somewhat as it looks a little "fake". Maybe I was wrong and the raves were real?? Didn't see the drama that unfolded, though.
I still use my Anti-Aging Lightstim (I have the "original" version), Retin-A at night reasonably consistently (still get peelies after all this time!), my rather spotty teenage niece is using my Dermawand and she says it's helping! Even have an old Pretika LightSonic!! which I'm going to give to her.
Been doing LouLou's Ageless for around five months (kept stopping and starting originally). Not sure I have had a huge transformation but my eyes do look less hellish in the mornings |

I also wonder if many of us who were super active are actually "older" now.. and it isn't all that bad. haha!
I think that could be it..that at a certain age woman get obsessed with trying to stay young…and perhaps that is a phase that many of the active members have passed through.
Also..we have found what works also. |

I suspect most people have moved on to other things. Of all ingreds though, only retin a, glycolic and AHAs, and salycilic are the gold standard that really does good things for skin. And sunscreen to prevent further aging. |

My activity comes and goes as well I joined 7 years ago and I really did learn a lot about skincare here doing my own peels and so on. I do enjoy it and think that by far this is the best forum online for learning about skincare especially if your into diy treatments and skincare.
I am not by nature a joiner in online, in fact this is the only forum I am a member of! I do love the forum and often check in even if I don't post but I also feel that at times I can get a bit obsessive about my skin and reading too much about skincare, in books or online can feed that in a negitive way. Its not a reflection on the forum at all but I personally need to take time away from it to keep a healthy state of mind about the whole thing.
Then of course their is the risk of being sucked into to buying and trying things when I don't really need them, but that is actually rather fun as I love trying new skincare stuff!
I would like to think that the stalwarts of years gone by have found what works for them and have moved on. While I do love all this stuff if I would probably rather spend my energy on other things if I could just way a magic wand and have consistantly good skin. |

martha1975 having been there, one thing I can say is protect your information. You cannot imagine what others will use as their own, including your hard work, and in particular, people in other countries. One of the best ways for third party validation of your work, is an ebay auction. Something that cannot be changed without record, that has an identifying number, and that you can print up and save for proof of work. Manufacturing in the USA and the EU has undergone massive regulatory changes in the last few years. All the best to you! |

Hello, I joined a fair while ago and used to love it here, I don't post much now (I got fed up with one or two posters who wouldn't discuss anything sensibly, just shot you down if you had the audacity to have a differing opinion) and I kind of drifted away.

I joined seven years ago and would just check in periodically. But yeah, a lot of the former regulars are gone, come to think of it. Makes sense that some would have moved on after learning what they needed, but if lots moved to another forum, what is it? Please give a clue. I'm not asking cuz I plan to abandon this one, just, um, curious. |
