Alex, you can try a microfiber cloth. This works pretty well. Also, when you are in the shower with your face under the water, just use your fingers to rub around on your face. You will get flakiness off that way, too. You can also use a mild enzyme product (I never can remember the name of the one that my nurse recommended by something by LRP), any mild enzyme scrubs will work. You will still be flaky, but any of that should take care of it at least for a few hours! |
THANKS... I'll try the shower thing first. |

Hi Oleppio,
I had pretty good luck using the Clarisonic to get rid of the peelies. I used in once a day and it helped quite a bit. Nothing you do will work 100% until your face gets acclimated to the products. Good Luck! |

Is anyone else getting hote flushes? Been using the system for 3 weeks now and started to get these, my face just begins to get really hot and i go bright red. Not sure if it is just that my skin is more senstive to heat, lights etc then before or some wierd side effect?
ps: if your interested please come check out my blog all about my experience with Nu Derm obagimyface . wordpress . com |

I'm 54 and started Obagi on Oct. 22. I am trying to "work" on wrinkles around my eyes. My esth has me on Mon, Wed and Fri the blender/taz - off days all but blender/taz. I peel like a snake. Sometimes I wonder if it is product peeling off and not skin.... it's amazing.....It takes me like an hour to get the peelies off - I can't stop picking!!! I have to be presentable - I work in the public!!!
I think I have an * spam alert *. I love (at home that is) to look in the mirror to see if I can pick more off..... |

Hi DebM
Have you seen any improvements at this point? Good luck with those peelies! |

My skin might be alittle clearer but nothing is happening around the eyes other than the wrinkles may be more pronounced at this point and I sure hope that it hasn't made them worse!!! |

Hi Deb,
My under eye area did the same thing too. I swore that I had new wrinkles! Mine were certainly accentuated as well. But don't worry, you haven't made them worse. I can't really say that Obagi helped my under eye wrinkles, however. At this point, I do use retin a and am still hoping to see improvement, although I know it takes a full year of usage to get the full benefit.
Keep us updated! |

I've been using the Obaji system for 2 weeks and had the typical peeling, itching as expected. But I'm returning to work in a day or two after an extended vacation. Am using a little Evian microspray to help control the peeling when my makeup is on. Is this okay as far as anyone knows? I'm in sales and need to have a great appearance in front of customers. |

Pattyd, the Evian water is fine to use. |

I know I have a little magnifying mirror here at work and if no one is around I check my face. Get my tweezers out and pull it off. I'd hate to get caught!!! |

I am thinking of trying obagi but i need help... if I get the whole set do i still need to go to my dermatoligst regularly??( monthly or weekly>?) i dont mind spending on products that i will use daily but i think going to the dermatologist every month would be a problem.. I usually go twice a year coz it really is pricey. How about the peeling? will it ever stop or do i need to stop the whole line? I would appreciate anyones help thank you =) |

I'm on week 12 and still peel like a snake. I see the esth about every 6 weeks. Last time she dropped me to 3x a week on the trenition/blender and I still peel like this.... I may have a couple days where my skin isn't peeling (today) but sometimes it takes me 1/2 hour to an hour to try to get it covered up and the really bad peelies pulled off with tweezers (I don't tug or anything, just what's loose which is alot!) |

It is definitely best to go and see a derm to start on Nu Derm. They can give you the best routine for your skin. The most important time is the first 6 weeks where a lot of people have major issues with redness, flaking, burning, etc. There are some people who just have a very hard time dealing with the side effects of Nu Derm, but others don't get many side effects at all. It is too individual to say if you will continue to flake the entire way through. I would just tell your derm your financial situation and see what they suggest for your follow-up on Nu Derm. |

Just have to add to this thread again,
I saw a friend last night that I haven't seen since I started with Obagi almost five weeks ago.
This is her initial reaction: OMG, did you get a face lift over Christmas? You look SO good
I'm still peeling a bit but now I'm so glad I didn't give up, this is all worth it |

Hi,
i am new here and just started the obagi condition and enhance system 2 weeks ago.
I am 44 and have major sunspots,
not much wrinkling, but some sagging.
I am not peeling much yet,
but am breaking out...
so it is nice to read about everyone who
stuck it out and are happy with the results! |
