Olivia I know what you mean! I think it was Winnies review that decided me on the Face Disk. I have always worn foundation, but think that as one ages it suits us less. so this system is ideal for the person who doesn't want to go totally bare faced. BTW it was great to have the coupon code and save money.

I've had this for well over a year now but never gotten good use out of it as the instructional component was on video and I, unfortunately, don't have a VCR. I notice that you can order just the DVD in the states. Has anyone seen that available in Canada?

Would someone please comment on the Lauren Hutton discs as it relates to covering mild rosacea? I am a newbie and have read, learned and tried a number of new skin care products. I have experienced wonderful improvement in my skin, with the exception of minimizing wrinkles around my eyes. (currently researching what products work best) The other issue is a mild/mod red nose and area next to the nose. I am currently using Alima minerals, which covers the red nicely, but it accentuates my pores and wrinkles. I'm ready to try the LH discs because it sounds like it's more suitable to aging skin, but before I pull the trigger I would like to know if it covers rosacea. Or...does anybody have any suggestions on how to cover rosacea and use LH discs?

Beth Ann,

I don't now how severe your Rosacea is so I don't want to make any promises. One of the reasons I love the Disc so much is I have some broken capillaries on the sides of my nose. The light concealer totally detracts from them. I apply the concealer with a brush and blend. I don't have Rosacea therefore I can't promise LH will cover. Perhaps a forum member with the same issue can help.

Thank you Winnie. Maybe others will have some good insight too. I'll keep researching as well. The great thing is that my rosacea is much better since I have started using appropriate skin care. Very Happy --beth

I got my Lauren Hutton Face disk set last night and I was so sad to discover that hsn had sent me a VHS instead of a DVD (that was specd on their website) after an hour long discussion with customer service in which they said "you have to send the whole kit back but I can promise that you wont get another vhs"~! So they suggested I call Lauren Huttons website directly which I did and the only thing they could tell me was "you have to buy the dvd". Needless to say I'm not happy at all! I tried the disk just using the cards that come with it and I'm not loving the results. I'm going to wait until the dvd comes to make my judgement. I'm going to post this on problem on both websites because both customer service people SUCKED!

That really stinks> Bad Grin I have only bought two things from HSN in my life (DISC being one of them). The other was flashlights that didn't work.

Lauren Hutton's customer service IMO is making a big mistake. What ever happened to "in good faith?" Does it matter at all to some companies the importance of word of mouth. As I am bored out of my mind recouperating from surgery I think I will write LH customer service a letter.

Olivia, Idea do you have a friend that has a duo VHS/DVD players. As I understand it you can copy a VHS to a DVD in a few minutes? Just a thought.

Nice job Winnie! I was so ready to give this a glowing recommendation and was so bummed last night to not be able to see the correct way to use the products. Its not about the money...big picture...I spend thousands on makeup every year...its the point that I felt very ignored! Like I was trying to "pull one over" on someone....I just wanted what I ordered! Not too much to ask! Wouldnt Lauren Hutton want me to know how to use the products the correct way so I would order more? I'll never order from HSN again. This was my first time and my last.

Winnie...hope your recovery is a quick one!

Thanks again!

Olivia please make sure that if you don't like the Disc or it is the wrong color you send it back to HSN. I do buy from QVC. Too many times I have made the mistake of not returning things I'm not satisfied with. What a waste of money. Bad Grin

Hopefully, after watching the video and learning the techniques you will like the LH Disc as much as I do.

After my email it would be awesome if Lauren Hutton herself read this thread. Obviously, she does not have time for that. If she has an on the ball customer service team they should see the importance of reviews on EDS. Smile

The colors are a perfect match and the brushes are great but I really cant see what sets them apart from the other cosmetics I have in my drawer. I was really hoping there was "something" to the application that made it awesome. I do like having all the products in one place. I'll let you know my thoughts after the dvd comes in and I can give it a fair try.

I believe I said either on this or another thread recently that if I experimented I could get the same results from my personal cosmetics. What I like about the disc is that everything is there for you and color coded. I never knew much about highlighting and concealing before. My favorite product in the kit is the Light Concealer. The Video helped me so much with technique.

I've never learned the skills of highlighting...that is why I wanted the video. I've read makeup books and instructions on paper but have never fully understood. I was thinking that if I SAW it then maybe I would understand it better. I cant wait to see how the disk is applied because I was not able to do it with using just the instructional booklet. I do love the quality of the makeup as well as the fact that they are all in one place.

Is there anyone in the UK who has a copy of the video that they would be willing to loan out? I'd love to see it and would be more than happy to reimburse you for postage and packing.

I'd like to learn her techniques.

She is a woman who has made incredible comebacks. She lived with a man for years, he died and then she found out he had squandered all her $$$!!! She had to completely start all over so she started the makeup co. Then she was in a terrible motorcycle accident and made a miraculous recovery from that.

I, too, ordered the Face Disk from HSN (thanks for the coupon code) in Medium. After reading Olivia's post, I suspected that they would send me the VHS tape but I hoped (irrationally) that mine would come with the DVD. NOPE!

I called HSN Customer Service last night immediately upon opening my box and seeing the VHS cassette. They were a bit nicer to me. After some back and forth with the rep, they are going to ship out a new set with DVD today and waive the return fee for the other kit. The rep even said that I could keep and use the kit with the VHS until the new one arrives...which is a bit of a waste since I don't wear makeup and need the DVD to know what to do.

I'm glad that they were more responsive to me than to Olivia
Thank you for posting here and on the HSN website, Olivia--I have feeling that your post may have alerted them to their customer service problem.

Good...I'm glad it worked out for you! The CSR did say the same thing to me but she then said that she can no promise that I would not get another VHS. I'm glad they fixed this problem!

I guess the real test is when my new set comes...I'm a little afraid that it will have the VHS tape too!

I hope not. I didnt want to go through the pain of sending it back. I just bought the dvd for $10 on the Lauren Hutton site. It may depend on which kit you purchased too...let me know how it goes.

Catski, I just found my unopened instructional video! If you can use, let me know as I would be happy to mail it to you. I don't have a VCR and so it is just sitting here collecting dust....

Priscilla, Olivia and others -- any updates?

I decided this past weekend that there are too many days I think makeup makes me look older Crying or Very sad . I thought it was all in my head until yesterday when my (gorgeous 45 year old) esthetician friend bluntly told me that she thinks I look good without much makeup. I guess that's a good thing considering all the moola I spend on skincare. But I do like wearing SOME makeup and think I look better with a "little something".

Sooooo I'd like to try something different and have always been interested in LH. I currently wear Laura Mercier o/f tinted moisturizer, powder, blush, eyeliner and mascara. Oh yeah, and eyebrow powder and lipgloss.

I'm fair-medium with yellow undertones (half Japanese) - so I'm thinking that the Medium (Yellow) kit would be best??
