skinprofusion
My 14yold daughter uses obagi and loves it too. It's a very unique product. Her skin is very clear and she'll probably stick with obagi as she grows. |

| @gelaudia, I started after my 6th week (as 6 weeks stands for acne treatment) using a moisturizer in the day. I still rub skin off in the morning, I also exfoiliate my skin at nighttime since a week. I'm very happy with my skin. |

hkyarrington, thank you for your reply. Now, after the 6th week, Do you mousturize and keep using the rest of the obagi products everyday as before?
I finished with my 6th week, so I am taking a break as my asthetician told me to do so, in order to get a facial in about a week. But my skin is still flaking and super dry? I can not wait to get a facial done and see my restore skin not so dry.
Thank you ) |

my skin is not at all dry, in the morning under the shower I massage the skin off, and at night I exfoliate. The diapercreme made a huge difference on the redness, because of the zinc in it, I never had that problem, the first 4 days I was soo red and then I read about this, since then, never again.
I now use clear a couple times a week, I still use the cleanser and the retina + blender every night. In the morning I use my eyecream and moisturizer again. |

Hi, I have been using the obagi Rx system for one week. My skin has become more
sensitive and itchy. There are peelings that the doctor told me it was normal.
What bother me was the pores on my face has enlarged and there were small
pimples popping out. I didn't have pimples and many pores on my face before
using this system. I was wondering if it is the obagi sunblock that cause this
problem. Does this sunblock contain any comodegenic component that require me
to use make up remover? And does enlarged pores and small pimples occur during
the initial stage? Does obagi Rx help to refine my skin?

I have been using Obagi's products for 2 years.
I am satisfied with the result, but a little confused on how to choose between Nuderm and Obagi-C.
Another problem is that my skin is quite dry! |

| I had terrific results with obagi, but you MUST keep going with a maintenance regime or the effects will not last. |

Dear All,
I am so glad I found you guys. I am on my 6th week of Nu-derm system. I have not reach the final result becuase I didn't use the Tretinoin and blender every day due to some parties I had to go to.
I have experienced all your experiences. (dry, redness, breakouts, peeling and .....) I thought my skin was totally ruined, but I am glad I sticked with it. It gets better as you keep using it.
Now I wonder when the redness will be gone? I have heard from a friend of mine, she said the redness will stay for 6 months on some people. I hope it won't stay that long on me or any of you guys.
Anyone know about how long the redness will be gone?
Yes, I realize my pores are bigger, and seemed like the pores are being cleaned up. I hope they will close up when they get cleaned up. I had pretty smooth skin before, but I need to get rid of my acne scars.
Also, I heard some people say that it will make your skin thiner and thiner, and have lack of self protection. Especially for younger people. Is that true? I am 24 now, is it a really right product for me? |

Wow, well done Im confused however as to why the blender... I'll try anything that gets rid of deep blackheads. |
The blender contains 4%hydroquinone, which is responsible for the whitening of our skin. I have undergone the Obagi peeling programme and my face has become fairer and clearer. For blackheads,I would recommend you to use the Obagi Exfoderm.Just apply it on your black head area before you apply the blender with retine A. The blackheads will be gone after a few applications. |
I have been an Obagi user for several years - I love it. However, I still struggle with blackheads on my nose. I haven't tried this combo before (I've only used the Exfoderm in the A.M.) but I will give this a try starting tonight! |

I've been using this for 7 weeks now. I had acne prone skin before starting this, but it had actually been pretty clear for about 6 months prior to starting this. Now I am breaking out again, but not as bad as some of you are saying. It started with tiny little bumps and now I have 1 large zit. I'm glad to read that's normal though because I was getting really frustrated and thinking about discontinuing some products to see what was causing it. I have to say, besides the acne, I'm thrilled with the results! My freckles are completely gone and my age spot has faded significatly and I expect it to eventually disapear. My pores seem to be larger than before, but I hope thats just because they are still trying to clear out.
I read of few of you say this is a 6 week program. I was told this is an 18 week program... I wonder if it's different for different people and issues... |

| Tammy, I think some people use it for 6 weeks only as a prep to a procedure, like the blue peel, etc. |

| No problem! You are correct, it is normally 18 weeks. You sound like you have had great results in just your first "cycle"! |

Hello all,
I've using Obagi Clear and Blender+Ratin-A for 3 1/2 month and I will have to stop it in mid of October for 3 weeks due to international traveling. Question: after I come back, shoudl I switch to active maintenance meaning using Clear/Blender+Ratin-A every other day instead of every day OR start treatment all over again using them everyday for 6 weeks?
Thanks! |

chubbycat, mid October sounds like it will be around your 18 week mark, correct? If that is the case and you are happy with your skin (hyperpigmentation gone, etc, etc) then just go on maintenance. Can you not take the products with you on your travels, instead of stopping them for 3 weeks? If for some reason you can't, please make sure to wear a good sunscreen while you are traveling and then assess your skin when you get back home. If it looks like you need a little longer time, do another 6 week cycle with all the products, but if you are happy with your results, then go on maintenance. |

If I am not mistaken (please correct me if I am wrong), during the 18-week treatment period:
Morning:
Toner
Elastiderm Eye Gel
Professional-C 20%
Clear
Exforderm forte
Evening:
Toner
Elastiderm Eye Gel
Clear
Blender+Ratin-A
It would be the same for maintenace except using Clear, Blender+Ratin-A every other day and using Clear only in the morning.
Question: What else can I use for the other days that I do not use Clear and Blender+Ratin-A?
Any suggestion? Thanks! |

Chubbycat, the C serum should go on after you cleanse/tone, then Clear, then Exfoderm, and then your eye gel. All of this of course is followed by you sunscreen in the morning.
In the evening, cleanse/tone, Clear, Blender/RA, and then eye product.
I have just started using Obagi's new line, ZO Skin Health and am really liking these products. You could definitely use some of the ZO products on your "off" days from Obagi. I actually think the ZO line fills a huge void for us Nu Derm people who are looking for something else to use when on maintenance! |

Thanks much for the info and advice!
ZO Skin Health seems to be new and more expensive than Nu-derm. Any difference between those two products and which product(s) of ZO Skin Health would you recommend?

Chubbycat, I am certainly no expert on the ZO products. I have only started using them myself a few weeks ago! The difference between them in my opinion is that the nu derm is medical and the ZO is over the counter. (I know you can buy nu derm over the counter, as well, but nu derm is usually sold in the doctor offices so they can monitor your progress, etc). I don't believe the ZO line will be quite as powerful as the nu derm, yet it is still results oriented and I think will still yield great results. The ZO line also uses more of the "newer" ingredients that are available now for anti-aging.
As for what products I would recommend, since I don't know what your goals are, I would just suggest you start with the jumpstart kit and see how you like the products. |

Hi all Obagi users, both satisfied and unsatisfied!
I have heard from a friend about this system for acne and have recently quit using ProActive in an attempt to be more holistic to be consistent with my lifestyle. I started to use and have been using hydrogen peroxide because i read great reviews about it and it's so cheap! It worked for a week or so but now it simply doesnt prevent any kind of breakouts but rather dries up and heals blemishes quicker than any other product ive used. Now, although Obagi is not exactly holistic, i'm willing to try it out.
I would like to start conversation with anyone about their experiences with this product/system, both pros and cons and not to mention, i am planning on seeing someone who i am crushing on in a few weeks and am trying to work this out accordingly... seeing as how i dont want the peeling to conflict with my charming passes ha! how long is the whole peeling and yucky phase? and after how long of using it does this breaking out and peeling begin?
Thanks for any comments! I'm so ready for acne to be out of my life forever. I have an appointment for a consultation next friday! |

The peeling can go on throughout the entire 18 weeks off and on. How soon you are breaking out and peeling is different for everyone. If you have not used Retin A, then you will probably begin flaking right away. You can always back off the products for a few days before an "event" and then pick right back up. Your results will be slower doing this, but you can do it. |
