Well, it looks like I won't be able to start the ReLuma for a while. My husband and I are going away on a two week vacation and I will not be getting my products before I leave. Although I am disappointed I was expecting this to happen. However, It gives me something to look forward to upon my return.
I have just one question for those who are using the Reluma....Tiny, Dark Moon, Loopylori?? Do you place the serum around your eyes and on the eyelids as well or is it just the cream or perhaps both products?
Rileygirl, I'll be checking in to see how you're doing. I'm so hoping this is a winning product for you...and for myself |
Hi leelee,
I am sorry you have to wait leelee, and I do hope you both have good results with the products!
I am (amazingly) using the serum and cream on eyes even lids with no issues at all, and I know Tiny was even before I got my products! |

Dark Moon....thank you so much for a speedy reply. I'm planning my new routine so that when I get back I can start right away without any issues. I have exceptionally sensitive eyes, but I will try and use both serum and cream. The fact that both you and tiny can do this is a very good sign.
As always, thank you for your help DM |

have a great trip.
I shut my eyes and rub it into lids, lashes and brows. It does not irritate me at all. Miracle for me, normally anything near my eyes makes them sting and cry. |

I use it in the AM marina and just wait about 20-30 minutes and go on with my ReLuma products, after their cleanser of course! |

LOL. marina I am not pushing the line, and I normally do not jump on a product but Tiny.s results did it for me and I could not be happier that I chose to give ReLuma a go, I am optimistic I will stick with this long term! |

Marta got a reply back from Invitrx regarding the Reluma usage.
Because Reluma works by replacing the concentration of natural Skin Growth Factors that have been lost in the skin, the method of usage could be different for each individual. It is specifically according to each individuals own speed of cell renewal coupled with the amount of sun-damage accumulated, among other factors that need to be considered.
During the first and second month with Reluma, the skin goes through a very quick recovery. According to the condition of the skin this recovery process could last two to three months (well say three months to be more thorough.). During these first few months the treatment with Reluma should be more intense, applying it twice daily, morning and night. After this initial phase it is only required to use Reluma once a day for the following three months to maintain results . By the 6th month application of Reluma can be cut down anywhere from twice to three times per week.
Any time that your skin has been aggressed (or aggravated) by sunburns, peels, illness, heavy medication, plastic surgery etc, it would once again be necessary to increase the usage to twice daily for a month or two until the skin once again reaches its perfect balance and healthy glow.
Ideally it is best to perform two intense treatments a year; once after the summer to replenish the SGF lost with the overexposure to the sun, and the other in winter to strengthen the skin and protect it from aggressors such as the cold temperature and wind burn.
*YOUNGER SKIN*
In general terms, younger skin with little sun-damage would use as follows:
For first 3 to 4 weeks:
Reluma is applied twice daily. After this initial time, apply only once a day.
After the 3 months: Apply 2 to 3 times per week, in the evenings only to maintain results.
*OLDER, SUN-DAMAGE SKIN*
For the first 3 months:
Apply Reluma twice daily (morning and night).
After the 3rd month: Apply once daily in the evenings.
After 6 months: Apply 2 or 3 times per week at night. |

| Thank you Riley great information! If I read it right, while they give guide lines, were to read our skin to tell when to really cut back and to adjust as needed, do you read it that way? |

Yes, pretty much. However, I think they are implying that by the 3rd month, most would be able to cut down to once a day. I thought it was interesting about the recommendation for 2 intense "cycles' per year. |

Thank you Rileygirl for taking the time to find that out.
Reading that I am going to change back to using serum and cream 2x daily. I actually could be slowing my results down by alternating. Slaps self upside the head.
It also makes me feel not so insane for seeing results so quickly. I have actually wondered if my eyesight was rapidly deteriorating.
Marina
it was me that lost letters before. I remember it was the letter L and some others about 3 in all. This is a virtually brand new laptop so I may have to send it back.
DM as kindly given me some advice, which I am going to try. I am using the on screen keyboard at the moment. I have noticed that h is probably my most used and needed letter. |

Riley - this schedule is pretty consistent with what many derms recommend for maintaining good "procedure" results (like IPL) where you might have a short series of them and then a touch up every six months or so. It is also true with Ulthera where the manufacturer recommends a touch up once a year or so. I think it makes perfect sense. |

I think it makes sense, as well. This is also something similar to what Obagi protocol recommends (though with that system it is usually 1 intense cycle a year). |

Thanks Pandal that makes perfect sense to me, kind of like a kick start every 6 months or so! |

Loops, we had a similar problem. DD solved it by yanking out offending keyboard and throwing it against the wall, thereby venting her frustration and necessitating the purchase of a new one in one fell swoop. This is the Greek/Italian way of solving problems
Now, regarding the serum, I like the fact that you can use around the eyes but I assume you still need an eye cream? It can't be enough..... |

on throwing against wall. This one is only a couple of months old, so that's not happening.
I actually am not using anything else topical. I find the reluma enough.I was using odd left over bits of creams after serum but I have stopped doing that. |

| Since the cream is so thin (cream/serum to me) I use that everywhere as well, all around eyes. They make a very well thought of eye cream, from reviews I've seen. But I am just using the normal cream there. Might be bad, but its working fine. |

Well good point, eyes are were I saw results fastest! Great results and fast.
eta: some think using a face cream is bad for the eyes, I don't fall into that thought process, since this is not a thick cream. That is what I ment by might be bad. |

I hope you can get it working!
I was thinking about the recommendation and how it mentioned doing the full intensive treatment when the weather changes, well mine doesn't!
I guess I will just follow a couple of Holidays say Halloween for fall and Easter for spring? |
