You can easily achieve this by using a light concealer and pat a triangle under your eye.
I bought the colorscience and I dont see a difference at all. |

| Funky, with all the respect in the world, concealer will not reflect light like a blue toned product. With the Eyes Wide Open, you need to dab it on then leave it for a minute or two to thicken. Then dab again to blend. |

Sorry, didn't finish that on my Blackberry and it went black The EWO or the Anchorwoman or Lise Watier blue has to go on after your foundation or mineral powder to truly reflect the light. |

The triangle area doesn't necessarily have to reflect light. As long as that area is lighter than the rest of your face, it will create an illusion of fresher and brighter eyes.
I have a make up artiste friend that told me that trick. She gave me a stick foundation that is one shade lighter and after you're done with your foundation, before putting on powder, i use my fingers to apply a little triangle with the stick foundation and blend it in. It does work.
I saw a youtube video on this before as well. If I can find it I'll post it here.
So I dont think you need to spend money to buy another product when you can use something you might have at home, be it a foundation creamy concealer, just make sure its a shade lighter. |

| Hmm, well, if it works for you that's great! Perhaps the blue tone is needed for TV work and other work under studio lights. That's how it originated and why Adrienne calls her product Anchorwoman Blue. In regular lighting, who knows! |

Thanks for posting this, Funky. I noticed she ha the same earrings as I do
This is really a video about disguising undereye circles but it is similar in terms of the triangle. The blue triangle to which (I believe it was Way Bandy) originally referred wasn't to cover undereye circles and is a lot smaller. It doesn't extend out as far and is rather enhancing an area by making light deflect from it. That might sound nitpicky but the two processes and effects are quite different, at least for me. I use an undereye concealer just under 1/2" of my inner eye, then apply foundation. I then do the smaller, lower, blue triangle, blend in, and either leave or lightly dust with a translucent powder. The blue triangle stops at mid eye and is about 1/2 inch below it, but everyone needs to experiment to find her own. Looking at little children or babies helps as they naturally have this "triangle of youth." |

I just bought this product and I am struggling with it a little. So if I first use concealer on my tear trough, I'm not sure whether the blue triangle should start under this or go over the top of it, if that makes sense???
Someone?
cheers

Hello Rebecca,
It should go under the tear trough (actually it should start just about where your concealer ends, usually about 1" under the corner of the eye). Just swoosh it down and out towards the centre of your cheek, with the widest point of the triangle towards the mid cheek. I hope that helps |

| I'm guessing the blue colour is used to highlight under artificial lighting - how does this look in natural daylight? I have a highlighting powder from Smashbox, but I think it might be too shimmery for this use. |

| It is definitely more noticeable in daylight, so I use a mirror that shows me daylight and artificial lighting to make sure that it is blended in well and not too obvious. |

Thanks Antonia, it does help. Today I seemed to do pretty good with it.
For day time, I run my bronzer brush over it right at the end, when theres really no powder left on it...this seems to really make the effect "believable" and seamless.
Thanks for the heads up on this product guys!

...and to all of you beauties of the thead, hallo!
Thank you for all the tips! I'll try the triangle technique too
I have a question: I noticed you mentioned milia and how it may be caused either by eye creams that are too rich or by excessive exfoliation/trauma, so... how do you get rid of the "plague"???
In LV dry climate, my under-eyes area looks as old as the Grand Canyon, but now I'm concerned about applying anything too greasy to re-hydrate it, even started noticing some little bumps (maybe I'm just getting way too observant?).
At the moment the IS serum/complex you mentioned is out of my budget... aaaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!
What is a girl to do??? |

| Remember Lilybelle - It is a subtle effect. It's there and you may not recognize it as something immediate. |

Hello Sarasara... to prevent or treat milia, I would make sure my creams were hydrating but not oily. There are basically two kinds of moisturizer, humectants that draw moisture to the skin such as NaPCA and oils that hold water to the skin and prevent it from evaporating. (Many moisturizers contain both). You should also exfoliate but GENTLY and be sure you use an exfoliant that is either chemical, like a mild glycolic or AHA peel, or made with ROUNDED grains and not ground apricot pits and the like. For clients who ask for recommendations, I usually suggest the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel, which comes in two formulations - one for sensitive skin. With moisturizers, I generally recommend serums with HA underneath a light, non-oily formulation, or simply on their own underneath a non-oily sunscreen. I use Nature's Gate Mineral sunscreen SPF 30 but you have to work it into the skin a bit and "fluff" any white areas off with a soft face cloth. I hope this helps. |

I just tried the NYX eye primer in shimmer a bit on my under eye and the inside part of my eyes-the area kind of near my nose.
Found that gave me a more awake look.
-maybe that can work for some people as it is a little shimmery and sheer in finish.
(and around $7).
these tips with the blue are neat!
I don't have wrinkles yet,but will try and remember these tips. |
