i joined less than 7 days ago, too new to be able to 'add a thank you' - so as an alternative, thank you aprile!

going point, and i'd much prefer a hydrating than calming route afterwards. i've been putting avocado oil liberally on my face (after the serum - i paid for it, i'm using it!) but i'm finding i'm getting huge black heads on my chin. i guess it *could* be everything being pushed up...? or still too soon for that? or do you think avocado is simply too rich? if the latter, is almond oil less cloggy?

again, appreciate in advance any responses!

Epionce may be a good alternative for the after care lotion/cream. Check out the Epionce thread for more info:

Yes Gertie, I do think that avocado oil is rather clogging. I use sweet almond oil and don't find it that way. Dermalogica has an entire line for aging skin, but you could also look into other product lines as the one Shasta mentioned. There are a ton of them out there. I'm happy with the DNA serum for hydration... It contains Sea Buckthorn Oil which is very hydrating. It's so interesting even if the skin seems dry it still can get congested.... I think you will work this out though.. the Tria is so worth it. Best, Aprile

Hi Zizi - I have just started using the combo of the DNA serum and Volu-lift. To clarify, it's only been a few days, but I have to say I am pretty impressed by the fullness of my skin. I hesitate to say this because I also continue to use Ageless Secret Gold... But it appears with the addition of these two topicals, I am seeing more fullness I *think* due to the infusion of even more moisture into the skin using the Pico Toner wands. Every Fall I deal with moisture loss due to lack of humidity and the heat being on in the house. My skin is also super sensitive. So I would say for me anyway, so far so good. Best, Aprile

3-ish week update:

most important thing i've noted is that level 3 really has to be the way to go, at least with my skin. i used 1 then 2 for the first 1.5-2 weeks or so. and although my skin felt dry, it wasn't until i moved to level 3 that all the stuff described in the last 35 or so pages happened. the sandpaper and peelies most notably. so i'm thinking levels 1 and 2 just aren't strong enough to do the deed on my face.

level 3 isn't TOO uncomfortable, totally do-able. its afterwards that i really feel it - burning, tingling, sensitive. aloe vera gel REALLY helps. i took aprile's advice and follow it with sweet almond oil. (which i want to eat).

i haven't see any change in my face, but i do the top of my hands when i remember, and was pretty amazed at how quickly changes happened there. definitely toned down the age spots. too chicken to try it on my decolletage (sp?) but will start when i'm on the 4 week break with my face.

another observation: i started finding this a chore. i know you guys are all hard-core, and most likely have substantial regimes, but i'm a newbie and lazy. but i found that if i treat the 10 minutes as 'me time', close the door, ignore the kids and play some music - it almost feel luxurious!

Have to get out my Tria and use it on my hands... those brown sun spots really gotta go! Thanks for the reminder! I find that the treatments aren't so terrible, it's the aftermath for me.... so drying! Especially in the winter with the heat on in the house. I need to get myself one of those facial steamers and really work on hydration more... maybe then. I've only completed one round so far, saw some decent improvements, but would like to see what round two will bring if I could only commit to every day. I guess maybe I could try every other day so it's not so drying for me. I saw other mmembers see better results and rounds 2 and 3. It is encouraging. Aprile

I think the thing to remember is that this is a fractional laser treatment - tiny columns of tissue are actually burned and these FLAKE OFF. So it does look like dry skin, but that is the device being effective. I have found that lightly shaving with a triple bladed razor takes off the flakes with the least amount of trauma and improves the appearance.

I am now finishing my 6th three month cycle with ReAura and this time I notice there is much less flaking, I think because those pigmented areas react more acutely to the treatment and most of those areas have either disappeared or become much lighter. There is more exfoliation where there are the leftovers of actinic keratosis.

Its all good and just gets better over time. Try lightly and carefully shaving off the flakes. Works for me. Just avoid anything too vigorous as the skin is already traumatized.

I hear ya Mismis - but my skin really gets dehydrated from the inside out from the laser. I don't really see flakes! But, I will exfoliate just to make sure. I hope this thing works it wonders the second go around. In the winter months thogh I have to remind myself to drinnk even more han in the summertime. But I guess that's what happens over age 50. ARGH! Anyway, its encouraging to hear and I look forward to faded age spots!!! Best, Aprile Very Happy

I just read on the tria fb page that they just got FDA approval to sell the laser in USA so they said wait for an announcement in 2014! So all you lovelies in the States....it's coming!
btw..how's everyone doing? All ready for Christmas? Or Hanukkha? Or whichever holiday you celebrate?
I'm still plugging away with my Tria. I have been able to bump it up to level 3 now but I stopped after 2 weeks because it didn't want to look dry and flakey for the holidays. Then, I'll be back at 'er in January. But, I've noticed a really big difference in my non-smoker's lines just doing level 3 for 2 weeks so can't wait until my next course of treatments finish....I'll be lookin' amazing for my 61st birthday
blessings to everyone and stay safe!

Tria is already letting you preorder the anti aging light if you live in US, will ship 1/8/2014. It's coming! I already have the ReAura, but wonder how good the Tria is compared. There's also a free gift bag with serums and free shipping and easy pay to make 3 smaller payments. I hope I don't order this as a Christmas present for myself, I really don't think I need Tria and Reaura.

Hi all,
I have been watching this site for several weeks now and have finally joined. It really is a great site full of useful information, great advice and reviews. I hope I post this in the right place.
I am an Australian living in Italy. Before moving here (for love) I had a reasonably paid job and could afford bi/monthly microderm t/ments and twice yearly botox t/ments-Now 8 years on, in Italy's economic climate, and ageing rapidly I can barely afford to buy a good face creme:shock: After reading up on all treatments I would really love to buy the tria as a long term investment, but the PRICE!I am unable to locate it in Italy, and in G.B. the cheapest I found was Ł450!(540euro!)In Canada it is around $495(335 euro) A difference of 165 euro!Excluding postage. My question is;
1) Anyone over my part of the hemisphere know where I can get it cheaper???
2) Or Is there some company/way I can use to avoid the 23%vat and customs tax if(that's IF) I could somehow order it from Canada...or
3) Is it realistic to think the price will drop considerably in my lifetime????
Sorry for the long post. Anyone with any advice/info it would be greatly appreciated!

Hello group!

Can anyone tell me if the Tria helps to improve skin texture? As I am getting older (I am 40) I can see the texture of my skin is looking rougher... so I was wondering if the Tria would help to improve this?

Seasons Greetings Tria People

At long last after what feels like years of lurking, I am about to become a Tria owner/user. I have a brand new device waiting for me at my brother’s house which I will be able to pick up in the next few days.
I am in London until January 10 so I am finally able to get my hands on this. I am very excited!

If there are any West Australians reading – I would be happy to pick up one extra Tria – or a ReAura and bring it back to Perth for handover – cost would be at whatever exchange rate hits my credit card. I will be back there around the 12th of January. PM me if you are interested.

Intersestingly - I had a look on the Harrods website - it looks like it may be possible to order online from Harrods for international delivery - postage is 25GBP but it would be VAT free. I didn't fully process the order so it might be rejected at the last hurdle - but might be worth a try. If you become a Harrods member (free) they are doing a 10% sale off most items this coming weekend 4/5 Jan. If the 10% were to come off the Tria, and they shipped it overseas without VAT, that would make a nice dent in the cost. Might be worth a try...

Colette

The latest issue of Allure has a very impressive article about the Tria coming to the US this year. One thing though is it talks about is it being consistent 12 wk trtment. I've been doing 8 wks. Has the protocal changed?

I wonder if the twelve weeks means they're including the 8 weeks of treatment plus the 4 weeks off?

I may have interpreted it wrong but it said "daily use" or trtment for 12 wks. Basically that you had to be faithful to doing it daily to get the results. I wonder if when approved for US that they chged something (maybe lowered the power?) Just spectualating. . . . .

Is the fan on the laser supposed to turn on every time you contact the skin?

I would like to ask a question about combining other treatments with the Tria. I recently have been using facial massage which has been great but how will that affect my skin if I am using the Tria? Also I ordered some of those facial cupping things and I am interested in facial exercise also but how does all that go with using the Tria, if I do massage or exercises in the same period as my tria treatments will that effect the outcome, degrade the collagen being generated?

Also I have been thinking of another TCA peel at some point for my under eye area which I can't use the tria should I do this only on my month off from the tria?

Thanks!

Massage and facial exercises are probably fine with the TRIA. Re: Cupping (I don't do this so I'm not as familiar). It probably depends upon your face. I would only do a peel when you are not using the TRIA and I'd give it a few weeks in between.

I believe my TRIA might be slightly defective. I got my TRIA on 1/8/14, just over a week ago. I put it on the charger, charged about 3 hours, pretty sure the blue battery light shut off the first charge. Activated the TRIA, used for about 5-6 face treatments (4 zones each treatment) and then the TRIA shut off on me during yesterday's treatment. Popped it on the charger, and had it charging for at least 4 hours and the flashing blue battery icon never stopped flashing. I used it this morning before work, so the actual laser seems to be working fine but I'm scared that it's charging wrong, or once fully charged, it's continuing to charge, which I'm afraid will hurt the battery. Do you think my laser is okay? I'm going to keep an eye on it and maybe see if next time I give it a full charge if the battery icon stops flashing once fully charged. Anyone else have or notice this issue?

I can't usually get through two full treatments with mine so I just charge it each night after I use it. It takes a while for it to charge but it is done by morning. I think yours is probably fine.

Hi EC - I had some flukey things happen with my Tria too. But in the end the unit was not defective. I fully charged it, did one treatment and then once done, it wouldn't seem to work even after putting on the charger. I am wondering if there's a problem with your outlet (sometimes that happens to me) OR if it's just a reset issue. I would say if it continues to happen, call the company. You did register your u nit online already, correct? If so, you will begin receiving emails from them and they will know who you are in the system. That's my advice! Best, Aprile
