Ha, Ha, Ha Rosebud, I know how old are yo!! Think positive and you'll always have good luck. Chinese tradition: when it comes to the year you were born, you have to wear something RED everyday. Lots of us wear red underwear for the whole year. Some people wear red string around their wrist for the whole year w/o taking it off.
Happy, Happy, Happy Chinese new year. I have to get the red envelopes ready for tonigh.

in many asian countries (korea included) you are 1 when you are born... it's quite weird really, but pretty cool. i was helping to look after some korean students last year and they said how old they were they said 'in korea i am 19 but in nz i am 18' - how cool is that!

Yes, you are 1 year old when you were born. And we add 1 more year on New Year's day not your birthday. So if you were born on Chinese Calendar Dec 30th, on New year's day which is the next day, you are 2 years old but actually you are only 2 days old.
At my age now I like to say my Chinese age if people asked. Because they always add "Oh, you look younger than your age!!" Fooling myself. |

MACrisis I have been wearing this red band since the weekend and I think it has worked it's magic already........the car needed it's MOT and both my SO and I knew the chances of it passing were very slim........IT PASSED
God knows how they missed the bad suspension!!!!
I have seen a beautiful red beaded bracelet that litterally called out to me when browsing on line, so I think I will treat myself |

Rosebud:
I don't want to mis-lead you on wearing red to bring good luck. It's Chinese tradition to do it. You'll see Chinese wear red on all "Happy" occassions. But remember it's not miracle or magic, it's a tradition. The most important thing is you have to think positive, try your best, and DO GOOD THINGS. I have a red string on my wrist for over 6 years. I'm a buddhist, the string was blessed by Dalai lama. It's more spiritual than luck now. When I see it I don't wish for good luck but check myself if I followed Buddhism rules and helping people.

Cheryl I know you are right
I am a positive person anyway and I completely agree with the philosophy that what you give off you attract....like attracts like |
