I'm looking to alter my regime slightly and hoping not to do something harmful or overdo it. Maybe you all can help.

Right now, ignoring cleansers/moisturizers/sunblock, my routine is...

Morning: Vitamin C serum (I'm using Skinceuticals)
Night: alternates between a 10% glyolic gel and Retin A (.025 percent).

The thing is I want to be using Retin A every night and I know my skin can handle it. But where would I then be able to fit in glycolic, which I also feel is important? I think using both Vitamin C AND glycolic in the morning sounds like overkill, right?

I don't know, can anyone think of a good way to squeeze in glycolic while still using Retin A nightly? Maybe some of you have regimes that involve these elements and can help me out.

Right now my main problem continues to be these nasty eye wrinkles. I would like to do something where I'm seeing visible results there -- so far nothing seems to help. Should I expect results eventually from my regime? Should I add an eye cream?

This is long-winded, I'm ending this now!

Thanks in advance for your help! Wink

Hi Janis...I can't help you with the retin A and glycolic and vit-c questions, other thatn it does sound a bit much...

But on to the eyecream side of things....

Md Formulations Vit-A-Plus Eye Creme seems to be working on my boyfriend. And that is a pretty cool thing in my book...

He has a range of wrinkles, from DEEP to fine around his eyes. His skin is pretty thick, at least compared to mine. He tans VERY easily and his wrinkles are mostly due to sun exposure, but also from having smoked for years and years and years.

With my last order from EDS i bought this: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/md-formulations-mens-delu-p_3222.htm - it's a VERY good deal!

I know it's the mens line, but I checked the ingredients list and talked to MDFormulations customer service - turns out mens and womens line are the same...the bottles even have the exact same packaging, only difference seems to be the boxes and prices Rolling Eyes

Anyways, back on track...
I have noticed that the skin around his eyes look and feel softer and smoother since he started useing this about 2-3 weeks ago. And he has thanked me several times for the cream, he really likes it - says it's the best he's had, and he's had a few different things from Decleor...

I would incorporate an eyecream and use your retinol and glycolic every other day... just my 2 cents wave

Thanks a lot, Ruth. Appreciate the advice and will look into that cream. I don't mind buying a "men's" product, I know that's all marketing anyway. I use a "men's" shampoo actually because one day I used my boyfriend's and found that I liked it better than mine! Also use men's deoderant, no messing with that Secret bullshit. So why not add a men's eye cream? Laughing

I'd add PSF O2 serum. This is my very favorite and it is especially healing after glycolic treatments or retinoids.

If you think your skin is strong enough to stand nightly Retin-A, I would switch to putting your AHA on every other AM before your C. (As long as it doesn't leave any occlusive film that would block the C from penetrating into your skin.) AHA will help dissolve the glue that holds the dead skin cells together so your C can penetrate deeper into your dermis, etc. Of course, with daytime use of AHA, you really MUST have a stable sunscreen or you could end up with nasty hyperpigmentation from all that new skin being exposed to UV light.
