I just realized that almost every guy I know (SO, friends, coworkers, brother, etc.) is super scared of losing their hair and is really sensitive about a potentially receeding hair line.

So i was just wondering if anyone knows of any particular products that can make men's hair loss worse or better?

It isn't just guys that have this problem, my hair is super fine and is falling out too! I haven't got any bald spots just yet, but you can see my scalp in places the hair is so thin. I've known other women too that have had the issue worse than me, and I've heard that hair extensions can temporarily cover your head.
As for the guys, this is big business now and there are clinics that can help with thinning hair. I don't know of any products that work, my dad tried Rogaine years ago, and he's still bald!!!
Good luck!

It's pretty much the same for men and women. Rogain 5% (unless you're planning on getting pg) and an assortment of drugs.

There's a line on the Shopping Channel (www.tsc.ca) called Triaxon. It's apparently so effective that they offer a 6 month money back guarantee.

Thanks for the rec, I will keep that product in mind. I might get something like that as a gift for my brother coz I know he will complain about not wanting to go bald, but won't look into the remedies himself.

The only thing/s that have been clinically proven to work with hair loss are Rogain and several drugs. Shampoos, scalp cleansers etc. are just so much snake oil

My sister used it and had pretty good results (she'll kill me if words ever get out about it). But you should always check for their showstopper, it's so much cheaper (just check the program guide on a weekly basis).

Again it is extremely vital to consult doctors if you guys want to take pills to prevent hair loss or so.

To my knowledge, some pills/drugs may affect Male's reproduction system. Be careful!

The pills are much more likely to affect the reproductive organs of the female, not the male. Same with Rogain although it's more effective in the female.

There are different drugs that are RX'd for the sexes. There is even a drug that works best in older women. Some of these drugs have been approved for hair loss by the FDA and some are prescribed by a doctor for off-label use. Doctors do this every day.

My friend's brother has consulted the doctor about those pills, may be similar to those drugs mentioned in this topic. I am not sure about the exact name.

The doctor did tell him it may affect the reproductive organs of male. Question

Doctors don't know everything and often make mistakes. Most also look upon hair loss as beneath them to spend their "valuable" time on. The doctor probably wanted to get him out of his office.

I have more than my share of medical conditions. I've learned it's prudent to verify and check everything they tell you. Actually, I've learned to diagnose myself before even going to the doctor and finding out the best treatment for the problem. Then I guide the doctor to that conclusion and he thinks he got there himself. Laughing

I'm a female who is not losing my hair. Although I have alot of hair it is fine. I wanted to thicken and generally strenghten it so I began using Nioxin Shampoo and Scalp Therapy Conditioner nearly a year ago. Low and behold my hair is in the best condition and appears thicker, as well I have lots and lots of new baby hairs at my hairline. The Nioxin line is expensive but to me it's worth every penny.
Slso I take Biotin everyday which is a good overall vitamin for your hair and nails.
