Hi
Does anyone know what different between AHA peel and Blue or green peel?  |

I actually did 5 course peels in professional salon already, the one they are using is MDF BHA 45% peel, I had lots experience about peels, however I never had blue peel before, r they the same? which is more stronger?

The blue peel you are referring to is probably the Obagi Blue Peel and is a TCA peel. I think that the TCA peels are generally stronger than the AHA peels. I have no idea how the blue peel would compare to BHA peels though.

I have never heard of the green peel before!

I don't know much about Obagi Blue Peel but I know how scary it was.  My sister-in-law did it more than 10 years ago and, and, and,....her face was blue and brown and.......scary.  She has lots of acne scars from younger days. After the Blue Peel, her skin DID look much better but after 6 months it went back to the way it was with lots of broken capillaries which were not there before and very sensitive to the sun. She told me her skin became so thin after the Blue Peel and she wish she did not do it.  |

yaling111 I used to get 70% glycolic acid peels and after reading about the blue peel I would have to say that the peels that I had were gentle compared to the blue peel. Although I don't know if gentle is an appropriate word to describe a 70% glycolic acid peel!! 
How are your 45% BHA peels? I would think that a 45% BHA peel would be a pretty deep peel.
Edit: Are the MDF peels you got AHA or BHA peels? |

| yaling111 please describe your experiences with the 45% BHA peels. I am very interested to hear what they are like! I may be wrong here, so anyone can correct me on this, but it seems that most BHA peels are done at a considerably lower strenght than 45%. |

In a nut shell, the Obagi Blue Peel is a TCA,aka, Trichloretic Acid Peel with a solution of 15%-20%. It is capable of reaching the IRD layer of the skin depending upon how many layers are applied. I would say this is considered a light-medium strength peel and is usually administered by a physician or other trained specialist. The Blue Peel is much stronger than a Glycolic peel.

So it is an alpha/beta hydroxy acid peel. Okay, that makes more sense.

with BHA or AHA both you can feel a tingling sensation, but it is guite normal, however after the peel, for first week, you may found more breakout, or redness, sometimes may peeling, for second week, your skin will be very smooth and the pore size would be smaller. That the reason I love having peel down twice a month, However, I was wondering can we buy AHA peel in EDS? then I can do the peel by myself, and cut down my buget...you know in salon is quite expensive with BHA peel, cost me 70AUD per once...  |
