Does anyone else feel this way? You maybe have a foundation or some skincare that you like perfectly well, and yet you find yourself researching and wanting to buy new stuff?
I have been using the Amazing Cosmetics Mineral Foundation which I do like (it might be turning slightly darker on me throughout the day though I've noticed). But I find myself obsessed with looking at other brands and I was SOOOO close to putting in an order for BE or JI mineral foundations just because I really wanted to try them. But why do I feel this need, when I have enough of the foundation I'm using now to probably last me until the end of this year?!
It's the same thing with skincare ... if I heard a good review, I want to rush out and try that too! I wish I could just be satisfied with what I have (especially if I have no complaints about the product) and if I'm still tempted by something else, buy it then, but not before.
Oh, why oh why, do I have to be this way? |

Oh Moonstarr! I understand your pain! For me it's the exact same way. I'm always convinced there is still something just a LITTLE better and I hear someone rave about something and I'm like OH I have to try it too! But being ADD with mineral foundations is pretty easy, because you can just buy a sample and if you don't end up liking it, you haven't wasted a bunch of money but it definitely satisfies the craving on the quest to something better. Also, just my personal opinion, I'd try Jane Iredale before BE. JI is vastly superior if bismuth isn't a factor for you. |

Well on the plus side, I'm happy with Trish McEvoy make up..
on the downside I am addicted to buying pretty things to go in my Planner although I don't wear much make up...at least there's a limit to how much I can fit in as I am retentive about organisation.. |

I wish I had this problem. Satisifed with what I have, the only reason I am not is because everything I have (which is hundreds of lines of products) NOTHING WORKS. I have to keep spending money because I have been searching for 15 years to find something to clear my face. If it is not one thing it is something else. I wish I could find something that works and I know I would stick to it. I would have no desire to keep trying new things. I don't care if the product(s) was $6,000 a bottle or $6.00 a bottle, if it worked I would use it |

If we were all satisfied with what we had, then the skincare industry would go bust!
I'm a junkie..a skincare junkie!
Even if I found something that worked, I'm not so sure I'd stick with it because i get bored with products and am always looking for new stuff. It's like a fix I get. Trying new products and shopping for skincare is an * spam alert *!
Well...aside from the money I spend...there are much worse things I could be addicted too! |

I'm like that too. My room is insane. Last summer my sister made me donate some of my stash. After two big bags later, my area looked the same. She was shocked. |

Yes, a life of excesses, when "simple" might get the job done.
But, with regard to mmu, please try a sample from www.everydayminerals.com
It's the first one that has worked so beautifully for me, and they only charge shipping for the sample kit. Great customer service, too. |

well I have changed quite a bit in past few years to not change my mind all the time....and now my stash is getting used up one by one. It mainly happened when I realized that topicals cant clear me up(PCOS related acne) and Rx orals did clear me significantly. before that I was always trying new things to see wheather it will work......now I have a few bottles in each category so that I have some choice to play a little except masks.....I still have too many of them...In fact I threw away a Karin Herzog mask yesterday bacause it has been with me for ages and may be had gone off! |

Thanks! I might try them ... their prices are really reasonable and I see they ship to Canada. |

I can't resist a good review either. My bathroom is starting to look like a spa! |

I definitely have this problem & unfortunately it's very expensive being me But I also think a lot of people (especially women) do the same. This is probably why cosmetic companies always make such bold claims about their products in ads etc because they know we are all after "a miracle product or cure" & will most probably pay whatever amount & keep buying products thinking we will get results. I think the perfect example for me is Clinique, I always get sucked into their dermatologist tested, fragrance-free claims & end up buying their products even though they always end up making my skin go crazy! I am also currently trying to but a makeup/skincare ban on myself...it isn't going too well though |

I think we all get sucked up into the creatively written claims of skin care advertisements. I think I will always dabble in lovely eye creams and cleansers, knowing the reason I like them is mostly because of preferable textures, scents, etc. Topical antioxidants are beneficial so those will always be on my list. But other than that I'm going to try my best to stick to tried and true rx retinoids from my dermatologist, Botox, a good sunscreen and good ole jojoba oil for times when more moisture is needed.
Retinoids have years of research backing them and nothing works faster or compares to Botox for flattening out lines. I've learned my lesson(I think)! |

Whew - thank goodness I'm not alone
I find that I start doing product research when 1 of 2 things happen -
When the product isn't working for me and/or when customer service is lacking. Actually there is a 3rd factor - ingredients. I have found that my skin has gotten better since I started using products that are organic. Which kept me searching for the best organic line.
So far a combination of Rosa y Fruta products + Luzern Labs 02 mask & serums have done wonders for my skin and I haven't felt the need to look for other things.
But makeup is another thing - I just discovered mineral makeup and am loving it. My Velvet Plush without Vitamin E from bareFaced minerals has solved my foundation problems as I now have something I can use as a powder foundation or mix with moisturizer or aloe vera gel and make my own liquid foundation . I would say that this is where my lemmings keep growing! Between by Terry and mmu I will always have something on my "I gotta' have it" list |
