Hi again,
Knowing I am in dire need of some Vit. C to add to my skincare regimen, I began looking at some Cellex-C products.
The problem is that I am completely lost!! They have soo much different types of products I can't possibly get them all!
I have combination/acne prone skin and I have some fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes...I am looking for a Vit. C product for my chest/face/eye/neck area--does that mean I have to get separate forms for each???
I am hoping to eventually also get something for my arms/hands but this over-abundance of products is confusing and quite scary for a low maintenance person like me...
Please let me know what Vit. C products you all use--they do not need to be Cellex-C brand specific...I'll take anything and everything into consideration...
Thanks! |

Hi Goka
When I started on Vit C last year, I was just as bewildered. After some trial and error, I am glad to report that my Vit C regime has somewhat reached a stable state. I will be glad to share my experience.
I noticed that you are considering Cellex C. I too started with Cellex C. You mentioned you have combi/acne skin. If your skin is sensitive, I would suggest that you start with Cellex C's Vit C Serum for Sensitive Skin - which is a 7.5% strength. If your skin is not sensitive, then the Cellex C's High Potency Serum (10% strength) would be suitable. Please do not start with Cellex C's Advanced C serum as it has the highest strength - 17.5%. Usually, it is not advisable to start with such a concentration as you tend to break out. Do not consider the cream because it is for dry skin.
I would like to add that you should check out Skinceuticals cos they too have Vit C, though their lowest strength is 10%. Skinceuticals is slight cheaper than Cellex C. You can also consider the brand Vivier though I personally have not tried this one.
If you are getting the Vit C, be sure to order the Hydra B5 gel as well so that your skin stays hydrated.
The serum can be applied on your face, neck and chest. As for your eye area, you will need to order a separate eye serum because the eye area is a lot more sensitive. My experience with Cellex C's both eye contour cream and gel were not great - the latter is especially drying for my dry skin.
Cellcosmet's Eye gel or cream, I find, are better. The other one you may want to try is Cellex C's GLA Eye balm.

Hi Goka,
I fully agree, there are so many different serums out there, different concentrations and different combinations of additional ingredients.
I started off using the Skinceuticals 10% vit C serum but I wasn't happy with the texture of it. I like my serums slightly thicker and I'm not a big fan of watery consistencies. I ended up giving that one to my mum and getting myself the 20% Vivier C serum. This has a thicker consistency and I'm really liking it. I see that Vivier has a brand new serum which has Kinetin as an addition. That's probably the one I will be going for next because of all the great things I have heard about Kinetin.
As Jenny said, for the eye area you will need something gentler in concentration. I skip the eye area when I apply the C serum and I just stick with the Murad Essential-C cream with SPF (it has some vit C in it - how much I'm not sure) and Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream at night.
