Okay from what I've read so far on this forum, the peels(glyocolic in particular) get down deep into the skin by breaking up the proteins or the elasticity in you skin. My question and or concern is if it breaks it up is this harmful in the long run? Or does the skin pretty much bounce back to the original consistency. I was kind of concerned when I read that it breaks down the skin so that the peel can do it's job and penetrate. I was worried if I do this 1-2 times a week that my skin would be broken down and therefore lose it elasticity and firmness.
Anyone know the answer to this? I'm quite concerned. |

I leave the answer to this question to someone else, but I'm not sure where you got the idea that a peel breaks down the elasticity in the skin.
The only other thing I would add is that you CANNOT do peels more than once per week without damaging your skin.
What exactly do you want to accomplish with the peel? |

Okay I must be mixing up my information then...*sighs*. With so much on this board it's hard for me to keep track/straight of all the info I'm taking in. My fault.
Somewhere on this board though I read that a peel or some substance breaks down the proteins in order for the chemicals or particles to penetrate deep into the skin. I have to find the post now.
As far as peels are concerned, for me I'd like it to slough the old skin away leaving me a healthy glow. |
