When I reply to posts here after I hit send my internet explorer opens and opens and opens. I dont post often so it has taken me months to realize it only happens after I reply to topics on here. The only way to stop it from opening a hundred internet explorer pages is to reboot. Does this happen to anyone else ?
Edited to add it doesnt do it if I post a new topic.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's a scripting error, but I don't know why it would be happening.
When I was building a site in school once, I had an animated image that, when clicked, opened a new page. Since it was repeating itself over and over to be animated, it kept resending the "open:new_window" script everytime the animation started over, so I'd have tons of the same window opening until I quit the program.
But like I said, I don't know why this would happen to you, unless it's happened to someone else who may know how to avoid it. |

It is very annoying when it happens. I cant x the pages out as fast as they are opening. You are probably right as to the scripting error but it is over my head as to why.

It's definitely a scripting error SherriinCanada. Does it happen on other message boards as well? |

I'm not sure why exactly that would be happening to you but I'm not aware of others having similar problems and we do have many IE users. Hence, my initial thought would be to get the latest updates/fixes for your IE (or get Firefox or Opera but I'm biased since I'm not an IE user myself ) and also make sure you have the most recent Windows updates as well. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
Does it happen on any other sites at all? |

Sounds like a problem with spyware. Try downloading these free spyware removal tools. Install and run at least two of these removal programs since one will find what the other doesn't. Here are some that I run weekly.
https://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx then select "download it here".
Spybot and Lavasoft Ad-Aware. You can download these free versions from:
www.download.com
Then try downloading Mozilla FireFox and use this instead of Internet Explorer. |
