i went on a trip recently and brought my cellcosmet samples with me. i was completely impressed with the cleansing line.
this is what i used:
1) purifying gel
2) exfoliating scrub
3) activator gel
i was in bali so i was sweating a lot and had a ton of waterproof sunscreen on my face (which i need to clean off very well otherwise, i tend to break out). this meant that i was washing my face about 3x a day at least. cellcosmet is surprisingly gentle. normally, with my MD formulations, my skin would be irritated.
i love how my skin felt (squeaky clean but not irritated) after i washed my face. after returning home, i continued to use the 3 products above and my skin feels oh so refreshed, oh so great, and someone even commented on how clear it looked the other day! unfortunately, i'm now out of samples and i need to stock up! my skin is going to love me but my wallet will probably hate me
my questions are: is my skin loving this because it's a new product (ie. effects will dissipate with use)? is this great feeling due to a combination of all 3 products? do i need to purchase all 3 or is it one product that is my godsend?
i would appreciate any advice and would love to hear about your experience with these products!
thanks in advance,

1) purifying gel
2) exfoliating scrub
these two make ur skin clean and easy to accept the others, i think it's the combination of all 3 products.
but these two can't be used everyday, at the most once a week. |

I use all of those products and have also added the Toner. I only use the Exfoliator twice a week and I also use their mask twice a week. It isn't your imagination, these products are really good on skin. |

the secret is the activator gel!! This is singularly a rockin product.
If you had to choose 2, I would make it the cleanser and the activator gel. The exfoliator is lovely, but there ARE other exfoliators around that are just as good. But IMO there is nothing out there to match the cleanser and activator gel.
Don't forget, if you are ordering here from EDS, ask them for samples of the exfoliator and also see if they have some of the Active Tonic Lotion to try. |

Second the Activator Gel. It's a MUST for me!! Purifying Gel is really good too! I won't be without it unless I have the cream one with me. |

I want to know what the heck is so special about the dang activator gel...I tried a sample and didn't know what to think...are the longer term effects impressive?....I do agree about the cleanser though...didn't know how good it was until I finished it....I miss the darn thing |

I love the cellcosmet gentle cream cleanser, I have not tried the Activator Gel, but it seems I need to give it a try. Do you use it before the cleanser or after? |

I got a sample of the activator gel and I found it to burn my skin and make it more sensetive |

I too stopped using the activator gel after a few uses as it appeared to make my skin redder and more sensitive. However, I was repeatedly informed that the gel is specially formulated for sensitive skins especially those prone to rosacea. I tried again a few times, this time leaving the gel on my face for only about a minute and only about three to four times a week. I have to say that I now really like this product and look forward to using it. It does seem to give a glow to the skin and the pores appear smaller after usage. I am glad I stuck through the initial rough period and gave it another try. |

Is it because of the menthonal(sp?)? |

I don't really know the reason...I'm not as ingredient savvy as I'd like to be. But large pores are a constant challenge for me despite my dry / sensitive skin and the activator gel does seem to help. I am scared to use it everyday though. |

Activator gel is used after the cleanser. apply to your dry (but damp.. if you know what I mean) face and then wet your hands to emulsify the gel all over your face and leave on for 2 mins (I usually brush my teeth while it is on) and then rinse off with tepid water and a gentle wash cloth or cotton pad.
Then you apply the Tonic lotion or else your actives, creams, whatever. I have used IS Clinical Active Serum after it without trouble, but haev not tried it before a Vit. C.. must try that... |

thank you all for your replies!
i'm going to bite the bullet and get the cleanser and the activator gel!
tiger_tim, you mentioned that there are other exfoliants that are comparable? any recommendations?
i'll ask for samples of the toner but i love my phytomer face dew so we'll see...
one more question: the instructions say to use the activator gel morning and evening. how frequently is everyone using this? |

panda, whilst I thought the exfoliant was nice, I was not wrapped up in it at all, I found it a bit scratchy... to be honest, I found my DIY honey and ground rice exfoliate to be just as good and the grains were more gentle. I also felt my RoC Peel-Ex Radiance left my skin smoother too (but that is any enzyme peel). I would have to say though that EpidermxII (what I am using now) is actually more than comparable, I would say it is better.
As for Activator, I only use in the evening usually, but that is only because in the morning I use a differnt cleanser and I am trying to be "economical" by only using Activator after cleansing with Cellcosmet Gel. |

I use the activator gel twice a day but if your skin is a bit sensitive then just use it once a day to start with.
If you find the Cellcosmet Exfoliant a bit scratchy (I don't as I find it really helps dislodge the blackheads which thanks to Cellcosmet I no longer have) then you can add a bit of water which will soften it a bit. The next best one to Cellcosmet Exfoliant is the Valmont Exfoliant which comes a close second is is slightly softer. |

hi panda,
I dont have real sensitive skin, but other members here with that skin type seem to use it OK. THe new version you use daily just for a 10-20 second scrub, so it is pretty gentle. (have not tried Activator gel over it yet)
Um, where to buy... goldportbeauty.com sells and ships overseas too. The president of the company that makes it is a forum member so you can PM her to buy direct or ask questions too I guess.. AmyNaturderm I think is the right ID. |
