I posted a question a month or so ago about products that would bleach the tint from tinted eyebrows, since the color never seems to last long on mine.

Someone (I can't recall who it was) suggested using men's Grecian Formula to tint your own brows. Great suggestion!

I ended up trying Just For Men gel color for beards and moustaches and it's worked great.

You have to mix the color gel with the developer cream in a little plastic tray, then work it into your brows with a brush that comes in the kit. Of course, the directions specifically warn you NOT to put it on your brows because of the risk of blindness, but what price beauty, I say. Anyway, you leave it on for a maximum of 5 minutes and then just wipe it off with a wet washcloth. They recommend washing your brows with shampoo after, so I usually do it right before getting in the shower and then rub a tiny bit of color-protecting shampoo on.

I've used their Light Brown color on my fairly blonde brows and it's a great shade for me. I bought the kit at Walgreen's and they had an amazingly large selection of colors. The kit is about $8. You can mix up as much of the color as you want to, and I'm anticipating that I'll be able to get at least 10 applications from this one box.

I've been paying $50+tip at a salon for a wax and tint, so this has been a spectacular find for me. Even if it doesn't last any longer than salon tinting, I can do it once every week or two and still come out way ahead!

Sounds like a good idea to try this out. However, I'm currently too chicken to even order 1000 hr tint, so I think that when/ if I build up the courage to do so, I may have to try this trick out on my brows. I wonder what would last longer though, 100hr or this 'Just for Men mustache tint'. Anyone have any experience?

I've always been afraid to tint my brows since my sister had hers done...She looked like someone from an episode of Star Trek or like the Joker from Batman!! They were so dark that her baby son was afraid of her..He saw her, looked at her strangely for a minute then started crying and ran away! Laughing Laughing It it just great though, that you've found something that works and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Don't you just love when you hit on a good thing?!
Good for you!
