I normally use the loose powder from Chanel, in addition to concealer and a little bronzer, because I don't like heavy make-up. However, this time I was tempted to try something new, and ended up with the powder from Versace, which I don't like at all. It is too covering, and cakes during the day, and doesn't look good at all! My skin is dry, and I want a translucent result, nothing too covering. My skintone is medium/yellowtone; from Chanel, I use the color called Naturelle.
Any suggestions for what to try next? |

I really like the Sonya Kashuk loose powder. They have it at Target here. About 8 or 9 dollars but a good product. Very fine texture and if you use a powder brush, can be put on super lightly...Just enough to even out skin tone, no caking, and leaves soft finish - not dry looking. |

I really like YSL Semi-loose powder. It's a recent discovery of mine The packaging is fabulous if you travel because it is actually pressed powder with this little cover that you turn in order to finely shave powder off the pressed powder bit. So it becomes loose powder
I think the powder would be drying for people with dry skin but should be fine for combo to oily. I have #1 (lightest) but would also love to try #9 (it's half shimmery white and half pink).
I have also heard many raves for the Mineral Veil by Bare Minerals, and i know that heaps of people use this even though they don't use the rest of the range.

I am really liking Laura Mercier Powder - it goes on so soft and smooth - and really helps control the oil throughout the day. It's translucent and now I feel as though I can't leave the house without it on! |

BB sheer loose powder..the best. Laura Mercier is a close second, but has a more powdery finish which I don't like. The colored one anyway, I found the tranluscent to be sheerer. |

I have dry skin and Clarins translucent powder is the only one I have found that doesn't dry my skin or give me flaky bits.
It is amazing stuff. |

I use Ettusias translucent skincare powder and it works very well in mattifying my face without feeling heavy. Going to try Miessence's next. Read some very good reviews and their blushes are very good! |

I love Nars loose powder. It is very finely milled and creamy. Good reviews on MUA too. I use Beach, which is perfect for my warm yellow-toned skin. |

I have been using the Laura Mercier in translucent recently and like it very much.
It is very light and seems to absorb any oil as the day wears on! |

A lot of different answers here, so it won't be too easy for you to choose the best, lol.
I personally use and adore T. Lecler loose powder. It is sooo finely milled, it blends completely into the skin. I mainly use it to set my concealer under my eyes. Even when I have caked on enough concealer to fill an ocean, the powder always just disappears the second I put it on top, forming an invisible, matte shield. It never cakes, never piles into fine lines. It doesn't clings to the rough, dry skin on my face when I'm going through a dry spell. It really is perfect.
Currently, I use Translucide or Camelia. They have loads of colors, though, many designed to lighten or brighten or highlight your face. Really, I can't say enough good things about this line. |
