I know several of you have asked about anti-stretch mark type formulas. I have been mentioning that a new start-up company would soon be coming out with formulas that contain the anti-stretch mark ingrdient called Regestril. The company has started up their web-site store:

http://www.susanbrownsbaby.com/

You can search under the "mom" products and look for the stretch mark therapy products. I know these formulas are pretty good, containing jojoba esters and many other natural raw materials along with the Regestril.

So, if you are interested in preventing stretch marks or trying to relieve stretch marks that you already have, these products might be worth looking into.

Here is a small write up that I found in Asia Pacific Personal Care Magazine on Regestril:

Stretch marks
Sederma was showing an impressive product called Regestril which was composed of the dry green bean extract of Phaseolus lunatus that contained a small protein with a molecular weight of 8,000 Daltons which inhibited tryptase and chymase. Rutin, a well known flavonoid, possessed antioxidant properties of value in inflammatory stress: in the presence of rutin, activated mast cells no longer released histamine. Moreover, they identified a new property of rutin: inhibition of leukocytic elastase. This strengthened the protective properties with respect to the extracellular matrix. They showed that the combined action of anti-proteolytic activity by the green bean extract (Phaseolus lunatus) and rutin with the tissue repair properties of the two peptides Pal-GQPR and Pal-GHK led to visible and measurable reduction of stretch marks. Both biophysical measurements and dermatological appreciation confirmed the validity of the approach.

Are these like 'new' stretch marks or older ones? I've never really believed all the claims companies make that they can remove stretch marks and have consequently actually got quite fond of mine! My daughter has different views however, but then she is only 15!

You know that is a good point guapagirl. My personal opinion is that these products would be best as a preventative measure. That is, prevent fresh skin from getting stretch marks during pregnancy. However, from what I have read about Regestril, the studies seem to show that it has good results against existing stretch marks as well. Of course, every woman is different and so it may work better on some than on others.

yeah, I rubbed epo oil all over when I was preggers and only got a couple of small ones and my babies were whoppers! both came in at 9lb+ and I'm pretty small so I reckon the EPO worked then. I gave some to my daughter when she got to 12 because I knew that she was gonna shoot up and that's when I got all mine on my thighs, arse and boobs. It seems to have worked quite well for her so far but she did get a few which is why I was wondering.

That said I don't want to make her paranoid about an 'imperfection' that practically every woman on the planet has! I doubt anything would work on my old silver ones now and anyway guapaboy and I think they look pretty. Kinda like I'm wearing a tattooed lace miniskirt that you only just see!

What does the oat kernel extract do? I noticed it is in both formulas as a primary ingredient.
