Hi Purpledeli
Is it a fresh scar that she is trying to heal or a healed scar that she is trying to fade? If it's the latter then I would suggest a vitamin C serum with AHA to get rid of it. Skinceuticals makes a vit C + AHA combo (I'm not sure about other brands). Also, a gentle exfoliator like Dermalogica Microfoliant might help as well.
If she is looking for something that helps heal the scar then vitamin E (just pure vit E oil out of a popped capsule) is good at that.

Hello Purpledeli,
Are you talking about the La Mer "Cream" or the "Serum?" I'm asking because the saleswoman who sold me all of my La Mer Products told me a story about a scar she had on her face from a curling iron burn that no product helped to heal. Just when she was thinking of some kind of plastic surgery for the removal of the scar she tried Creme de la Mer and it healed it.
Personally, I believe her story, but as a user of most of the La Mer products I found them to be quite unremarkable for me - only expensive.
Mabsy, makes some good recommendations especially the vitamin E. |

Dear all,
Thank you for you gals advice.
Mabsy, I will talk to my friends regarding your suggestion. Thanks a lot!
Leeleedeedee, my friend is from HK and La Mer Concentrate has just launched there so she wants to give it a try. But personally, I don't think it is worth coz i used La Mer Cream before and i didn't see a significant result. Perhaps, i got combo skin so it is better for me to use other products for refreshing and refining. |

Purpledeli, I have very dry, dehydrated skin. I thought I was the perfect candidate for the La Mer line. But, even with skin like mine it really didn't do much of anything except cost me a lot of money. I really prefer the Dr. Hauschka line. Made a big difference in my skin. Yet, I'm still glad I tried La Mer and got it out of my system that it was "the miracle for beautiful skin." Now I know it isn't and I can save some money. |

La Mer Cream was too rich for my face. I broke out in whiteheads on my cheeks which is normally dry and had no breakouts prior to my use of this cream.
The serum gave me a really bad allergic reaction which took a week to recover from.
I have sensitive combination skin (oily T/dry cheeks). |

Don't have anything good to say about La Mer but I do second Mabsy's suggestion of using the C and E to heal the scar. Also, I have heard that there is a product called "mederma" that is specifically used for scars....? |

Hi
Try Decleor's Prolagene gel, it doesn't say on the packaging that it's for scarring, but it's a well kept secret that it's fantastic for scars, give it a while though a couple of months should make a difference.
As to Mederma, I've tried it and it made absolutely no difference for me. |

Ditto with the Prolagene gel. They recommend it on acne scars, stretch marks, eczema. |
