I am fed up with being a Dermalogica-only girl, as I may miss out on some really good products out there. My Ultracalming cleanser is nearly empty, and now, I want to try something else. My skin is slightly dry, slightly sensitive, and cannot take foaming cleansers BOTH day and night. I already have a foaming cleanser from Decleor for use in the AM, so I am looking for a nighttime cleanser that will leave my face clean without drying it out.
I generally prefer richer textures, so milks would have to be creamy, not runny. |

I love the Babor hy-öl and phytoactive combination. They also have a phytoactive for sensitive skin. It is a two step cleanser and I do think Mabsy posted a review at the other forum.
I like it because it leaves my skin clean and soft. I have normal/combo skin wich is dehydrated and sometimes flaky. The best part is that is dosen't dry out the top layer of my skin or irritate. |

I second Aurora's rec of the Babor Cleansing Oil. Decleor also makes a good one. I was also going to suggest the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Milk but I think it might be too runny for your liking.... How about the Dr H Cleansing Cream for something different? It does have almond meal in it but it's very gentle.

what about evelom or liz earle cleanse and polish? They are both balm type cleansers and very gentle, though I'm now using boots cheapo version (which is only any good if you live in the UK ~ sorry ) |

How about the MD Forte cleanser or Serious Skin glycolic cleanser? I've heard great things about them. |

First, let me say that I have tried probably every facial cleanser out there. Products that ranged in price from $5.00 - $500. And the only thing that I have found that works for me all the time is Hymed facial cleanser.
It puts your skin back in balance and it is soooooooo trouble free. I never have to worry about breaking out or those dry patches anymore. And it is relatively cheap. It is like $30 for a big bottle that will last you like a year.
I have tried everything, and my skin is pretty sensitive.
The only drawback is that you can only get it from a doctor. I don't think that you can buy it yourself. But maybe you can find it online.
I did a search online and found their website, but I don't think you can order from them.

Good luck! |

i'm with Mabsy on the Dr H cleasing cream (sheesh, i feel like a tv evangelist about dr h products!). i was a dermalogica girl too for ages but found that although it was good, it wasn't totally fantastic and thought i could get better results.
anyway, i started using the dr h cleansing cream (which is actually quite thick and pasty) about a month ago. i use it every morning (trying to use up my dermalogica stuff in the evening) and have noticed a real difference in my skin. it doesn't seem to be as dried out by using the dr h c.c. as it was with the derm. stuff and i've noticed that those pesky blackheads on my nose have practically gone.
it's quite an interesting product in that it is a cleanser and a gentle exfoliant all in one but it doesn't feel like a scratch-off-one-layer-of-my-skin kind of exfoliant but one that is far more gentle and suited to the natural processes of out bodies *oh, watch out, think i just switched into preaching mode!* basically i am a total convert to the dr h stuff in general, and the cleansing cream definitely leaves my skin clean but not dry at all. okay, here endeth the sermon! sorry about that but i can't say how much i REALLY like the dr h products! |

I got the tester set from Dr. Hauschka, but am kind of skeptical, since I am normally a hi-tech girl I also don't like the smell of rose that much...
Maybe I should give the stuff a serious go, and go back to my normal routine if nothing happens? I guess the small sizes will last me for about two weeks. |

Nemi,
I'm usually a high-tech kinda girl too but trying the cleansing cream has made me want to try everything else in the Dr Hauschka range (that plan is coming along quite nicely ). Is the little tube in the set a 5mL one? If so then it probably won't last you all that long -perhaps a week maybe? I'm not sure if you'll see much of a difference in that time frame but I hope you do give this a go though. I it and will definitely repurchase (I've already stocked up on one ).

My FAVORITE cleanser is Eve Lom.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING cleans like it for me. I dont do the full ritual with it, but I do love giving my face a bit of a massage and then using a warm and cool cleansing cloth to rinse it off.
my skin is the cleanest it ever feels after using it (blackheads seem to melt away) and baby soft.
For the morning, I am still looking for a HG gentle cleanser to use under the shower.
Currently we have Murad Pommegranite foaming cleanser, but I feel a bit taught after using it. |

I've found Eve Lom to be good as well, but Dr Hauschka has taken over for me nowadays. I like the smell and the texture better. I still have an almost full pot of the Eve Lom sitting in my bathroom. I still use it sometimes when I want to do the whole massage routine, but other times I just find it too tedious. It also never had the "blackhead erasing" properties for me so my motivation to use it regularly has dropped off significantly.

If you like cleansing milk, i would recommend the one from Decleor. The texture is very light and it's got this floral scent that is not too overwhelming. I have dry/sensitive skin and my skin seems to really like it. |

would just like to totally second Dr Hauschka
two things to think of before you try it:
1. it has some alcohol - I have combination skin and it is not a problem for me , also ,I used to have dry patches and they have gone, so I cant say it dries my skin
2. some people mind the smell- its hard to describe :"medicinal" and quite strong - but it doesnt remain on the skin, you smell it only when you use it . |

a cleanser -eye make up remover -related thought just came to me : what is more abrasive : muslin cloth or cotton wool?
From my personal experience I found cotton wool abrasive under my eyes so at the moment I use muslin cloth to remove my eye make up..but am I doing the right thing? |

Puma7 - to me it seems like the muslin cloth might be gentler. Not sure though, just seems like it when I use it.
Nemi - if you like cleansers with some exfoliating grains then I tried a really nice one just the other day. Pevonia Botanica Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. For some reason I was expecting this to be an AHA cleanser with no scrubby bits but I was wrong. I really like it and I think I might actually buy the full size (not that expensive either). I'm not sure if the "gentle" part is actually gentle enough to use daily. Maybe if you have oily skin, but not if you have dry or sensitive skin.
