Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum and although I've been reading for a few weeks now I still have sooo many questions. I've always taken care of my skin, but you ladies here have a regimen that I'm new to. What I'm asking is "Where do I begin?" It' seems most of you are using things like Vit. C, retinoids, oils, acids, etc. Are there products that every woman should use no matter what their skin type? Is there a basic step by step routine that I should be following? Perhaps this is a difficult question to answer. I'm just asking what the essentials are and how to know where to go from there. Here are my skin concerns:
-Very fair/Green eyes/Red hair
-Rosacea
-Oily/Combination
-Sun damage (esp. on neck/chest)
-Hereditary dark circles, milia, a little puffiness (I have just started using Easy Eye Solutions)
-Occasional acne
-Am looking into an LED device such as the LightStim
I'm 41 years old, but have suffered a tragedy this past year and feel I have aged significantly. Any help from you ladies as to how to better care for my skin will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for all that you contribute to this forum. |

Welcome to the forum Songbird . For dark circles I know Peter Thomas Roth has a vitamin K one that many members on here rave about. For oily/combo skin many members make their own Apple Cider Vinegar toner, which works wonders. You can even add asprin to it, to help with the oil. If you do a search in the forum for "ACV toner" you can find some recipes and read up on those threads. As for a device, I love the Clarisonic and so do many other members on here. It really exfoliates and cleans your face, so you can prevent future breakouts. I hope this helps! |

Welcome to the forum, Songbird.
Products containing acids might be too harsh for some people with rosacea and sensitive skin conditions. Vitamin C serum is a great topical antioxidant. You can try it out and see how it works for you.
If you feel it's too strong, a serum containing coffee berry or caffeine is a great substitute as it gives antioxidant protection as well as calming down redness and rosacea symptoms. Two great products are Revaleskin Night Cream with 1 % coffee berry

and Topix Replenix Cream CF containing green tea and caffeine.
