Hey, looks as if EDS is in the process of adding more new PSF products...
PSF BHA Solution 2% and 5%
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/psf-bha-solution-2-p_7807.htm
Ingredients:
Salicylic Acid – This beta-hydroxy acid works within the pore to dissolve sebum & oil. Helps keep pores clear & discourage acne breakouts.
Niacinamide – Helps to clarify & brighten skin. Also displays anti-inflammatory effect in patients with acne & rosacea.
L-Glycine – This amino acid plays a key role in the generation of healthy tissue & wound healing. |

Has anyone tried it yet? Is it good for acne? |

Thanks for posting this. I know PSF products in general have good reviews.
I am currently using PC but really would rather order from EDS.
I would love to hear any feedback on this! |

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I'm about to use skinbiology's exfol serum but I am interested in this new PSF BHA solution. However, I cant see where the 5% BHA is at EDS
I copied the ingredients of the BHA solution from the PSF website:
Aqua (distilled water), SD alcohol 40B, lactic acid, salicylic acid, sodium lactate, niacinamide, phenoxythanol, l-gycine, eucalyptus globulus
Are there any "bad" ingredients here? |

I think the link for the 5% must not be set up correctly as I can see it in the Recent Additions list and it lets you add it to your cart but you can't get to the product description...

I have used the PC BHA liquid on occasion and in spite of what it is supposed to do, it makes me break out! Re the PSF product - I know people who are allergic to eucalyptus so if you are one of them this product would not be for you. |

They probably haven't uploaded all the info yet.
Im considering giving this a shot after my JM Bioclear runs out, I used Exfol serum for several months and found it surprisingly noneffective on my skin.
The ingredients look pretty good to me, the SD alcohol 40B may be drying for some skin types but since I haven't tried it I don't really want to assume, it could be a great product.
Let us know if you try it! |

Hi vonstella
I was using the JM bioclear but have just received my NCN parcel (exfol serum, CP serum and the pumpkin peel). So I will be using the exfol serum for the coming months. I bought it cos it was cheaper than the JM and the JM doesnt really work for me.
I will wait til more people have tried the PSF before buying as I really dont have the money to keep trying new stuff |

I was really torn between PSF's and the one from DY. I ended up ordering the one from DY because it doesn't have any eucalyptus in it, although, since it's the last ingredient in the list, it may not have much of an effect. |

I've got my eye on this but holding off until my current BHA/AHA products run out before I try them. I've heard a lot of great things about niaciamide for topical use, so I'm definitely intrigued! Looking forward to some reviews.
nickygirl, this will likely be more effective than aspirin mask. Aspirin contains acetesalicylic acid, close to salicylic acid but not quite the same thing. |

I hear ya, the JM is pretty pricy. I want to try the PSF one but have at least 2 more months worth of my JM--I just cant justify buying another acne treatment yet.
Just a word of warning about the Exfol, while it did help somewhat on active acne, it didn't make it go away completely and was useless for congestion. Although, I did use it before discovering E2 so maybe it wasnt penetrating well enough...I would just keep something on hand if you start to really breakout.
I'm curious how long you used the JM? In my case I didn't see full results till I started my second bottle and was using it AM and PM.
Anyway, just some thoughts. Let us know how you do. |

I do find the Exfol really mild. I mentioned in the other thread too, that when after extractions, usually applying anything on will sting it slightly. But with Exfol, nothing at all, which was weird. Its still a 2% isnt it, same as JM?
Eek...I dont have my JM bioclear anymore. The Exfol is my only BHA serum, although I am still using Differin (No use at all either. Need to see the docs soon).
I used up nearly 2 bottles of JM...it just doesnt seem to control, heal or do anything at all for my acne nor red marks. I used it twice a day if I have time.
I may use up the whole bottle of Exfol and if it doesnt work then get the PSF 5%. If that doesnt work then I think Im going to give up using a BHA serum!
You're using Epidermx II right now? |

Hmmm, as far as I remember the JM is AHA and BHA, it has SA and GA, only the serum though, not the cream version. I think that's why it works for me so well. I need both.
Have you ever tried Alpha Hydrox souffle?
Yeah, I use E2 morning and night for about 45 seconds on my face and neck. An HG product for me, its helped my congestion, pores and texture so much. One of the few products I have ordered multiple times. |

No, not used Alpha Hydrox souffle before. EDS doesnt have them and I havent ordered from anywhere else yet. I have just used PC's, JM and Exfol.
I will buy Epidermx II and the Chrysalyx soon...after the postal strike anyway, which I dont know when that ends
I have used EII on and off last year, I think, and it didnt really have much effect on my skin. Maybe cos I wasnt scrubbing rightly and that I wasnt using it religiously everyday. But after reading more reviews and seeing Liz's before and after pics, I want to try it again! |

Yeah, I think thats its a product that needs to be used at least once everyday to see the benefits. If you want I have a BNIB AH souffle that I will send you after the postal strike is over. Its really good stuff. My last jar lasted me for nearly a year! |

Thanks very much vonstella for the kind gesture, but I am less than a week into the Exfol serum and I dont know whether that will work yet.
It is just AHA isnt it? It doesnt contain salicylic acid? |

Im not sure if I answered your question clearly, yes its only GA, 12%. You really might benefit from using both, maybe the Exfol in the AM and the AHS in the PM...just a thought. |

Hi Vonstella
I did want to try using BHA and AHA but it just seems like I am putting too much on my face. I already use peels, aspirin masks, Differin and BHA serum. I've got CP serum sample for my acne marks too, but not yet tried it. Especially with Differin, although its not drying or working for me, it is a prescriptive topical retinoid so I kinda think I shouldnt use too many strong products in conjunction with it. Maybe I am wrong
I have also started using an electronic toothbrush to exfoliate my face too! |

Oh wow! I should have noticed that on your siggy. I agree, it might be too much for you. Since I use AHA and BHA, I only use the Dr. H Cleansing clay mask and no other treatments...although I might start Retin-A at a low % again. |

I was all exited about this product too but be careful...
SD Alcohol 40 is not really a good ingredient. I read in a ingredient dictionary : "It can be drying and irritating to skin when used as one of the main ingredients in a cosmetic product"
If I remember I think its second or third on the list... |
