Hi, is it insulting to buy skin care packages for someone for christmas? I am currently waiting on my dermawand and was thinking about getting a dermawand package for my mom. I am really in two minds about it.
Thanks

If I was your mum, I would be ecstatic and think you were the best daughter in the world. |

I wouldn't give something like a zit care package to an acquaintance or someone I work with. I always give my sister, aunt and niece creams and potions. They love it when I share EDS samples with them. If I could afford it I'd buy them all a Baby Quasar! |

I used to buy my mother skincare and perfumes for her birthday and Christmas, and she was always pleased. |

My Mom loves skin care products. I send her my used it don't like it products every 3 months. She looks forward to my care packages.
She tells everyone that she hasn't bought any skin care products in 3 years.
My Mom was the one who taught me how to take care of my skin. I remember her walking around the house in the 70's with a bright blue face mask on. She used Ponds cold cream every day as there were no face care products to really buy back then. She turns 60 in 2 weeks - she has skin like a 20 year old. She wants us to get Botox injections together. Also, my mom would not spend money on really good products. She waits for me to buy them.
My Mom is visiting me for Christmas and I already have a list of products that I'm going to buy her from EDS.
So the answer to your question - yes buy her the dermawand package I bet she'll love it. |

I buy my mum skincare because she doesnt take care of her skin and she is always appreciative of my gesture, but she tells me to not buy the expensive ones for her as she doesnt need to look that beautiful
If its your mum then you can buy specific skincare for her skin type. But as Doohicus said, if you were to buy it for a friend or acquaintance, then buy general skincare packages e.g. moisturising sets. |

That is why I want to buy it for my mom because she never spends any money on anything for herself. I think I will order it.
You know someone brought me the proactive set last year... i still havnt used it , i only get the odd pimple every now and then, i was suprised, and a little insulted... lol hence my question,, thanks.

I turned 40 this year and was SO THRILLED to receive spa facials and massages from my friends. I think no one would be insulted if you gave beautiful products to them as a gift - especially if they were someone who didn't usually buy nice skin products for themselves. Like most people here I always get skin care for my mum as a treat. I have even been brave enough to give products to my mother-in-law for her birthdays etc!!!! |

My bf got me a 3-yr membership at Bally for my bday, and I was not insulted whatsoever! I was ecstatic that I could now go to the gym with him. So I am positive your mom would love trying the dermawand. You're so sweet! |

I think this depends on the person and seeing as this is your mum, I think you probably know her well enough to know whether she would be insulted or not. I have received skincare gifts in the past and have been thrilled with them. Then again my friends know me as the skincare queen so they probably don't hesitate too much.
If you're really not sure then perhaps you can still give it to your mum and say something along the lines of "I have one of these and I think it's fantastic so I thought you might like one as well". |

I ran a beauty ecommerce store before and have gotten all my friends and siblings beauty products. However, the only products I don't give as gifts (unless they were requested) were anything along the lines of skin problems - acne, wrinkles, etc. Those can offend sensitive people who are self-concious about specific problems (especially if they have bad skin). I usually give out body products - soaps, body wash, body cream, etc. so everyone can enjoy it without thinking that they 'need' corrective measures.

Most of the presents I give out are skincare packages. I haven't had anyone complain yet. |
